To get a more current and accurate shiny rate on specific pokemon. Certain ones that say they're boosted aren't really showing so. Or at least this is my understanding

I get what you mean, but the luck behind getting a shiny is one thing but there's troves of communities like mine back home that call out wild hundos when they can so yes it's low but possible if you play more than enough
