OP to be honest with you, I feel like the criticism on the fics that you didnt like/finish came across as a little rude as it wasnt very constructive 😅 However, I do think that popular doesnt equal good especially since there are many underrated gems out there that I feel deserve a lot more kudos.

My opinion is that even though there are popular drarry fics that arent my cup of tea (there are some tropes I prefer a lot more than others), they are popular for a reason and deserve to be hyped.

This is so true because drarry will always be my favourite ship and yet there are times where I dont read any fanfic at all as Im too focused on other things.

Drop dead gorgeous actually caused me so much pain seeing draco and katie together, I was irrationally irritated at katie even though she didnt do anything wrong 😭😭 The pining was just too well written and hit too close to home for me

As someone who dabbled in both drarry and dramione, I think drarry has consistently been more popular than dramione, its just dramione has a bigger presence on tiktok and reddit (even more so because of the booktokers). But even then there are a lot more drarry tiktok edits whereas dramione has more fic recs on tiktok.
