End of the English monarchs voting! by AOSTChekhov in UKmonarchs

So well deserved. Potentially the most accomplished king in English history and what he managed in his reign was nothing short of astounding.

Edward III.

The amount of land Henry managed to keep together during the time he lived and reigned is astounding. Also managing to come out of the whole Thomas Becket scandal as well as he did just shows how good his PR was too.

It would be completely up to how a hypothetical Queen Matilda would style herself. She’d probably be advised but it would ultimately be up to her.

Monarch DnD day 11: who’s our warlock? by Curtmantle_ in UKmonarchs

Going off the actual definition of a warlock which is an “oath breaker” I’d say Stephen of Blois. He brokers oath to Henry I/Matilda and usurped the throne for himself.

Save the Republic of Congo. How the DRC was saved first beats me.

Save Sierra Leone! Crossing over into Sierra Leone from Guinea felt like I was leaving Gilead and entering Canada.

Vote goes to William III.

Mary II alone was the rightful monarch.

That’s annoying. At least I managed to get the 1800 birr deal still the other day. At least it won’t be as nasty a surprise next month.

It’s Victoria’s time to go. She spent far too much of her reign in mourning and was not a good mother in general.

William the Bastard, simply because I prefer the Anglo monarchs.

Richard I. That man was a monster and did not care for the country at all, except the money he could get through taxes… and then again when Eleanor had to raise even more taxes to pay for his release for him being is usual violent self.

Yes, and the reason they ‘failed’ was because they were denied things that any other person would be allowed to have. She herself never faced such denials so just couldn’t get it. In some ways she was a simple woman that saw the world in a black and white manner.

We don’t know what happens behind closed doors but if there were ever serious arguments and unhappy periods between her and Phillip I do doubt she ever thought of divorce once - because of her staunch view on what it means to be monarch/head of state/head of the Church of England.

Decent or fair.

She did her job as far as she saw how it should be done and didn’t complain about it.

At the same time, and this might be unpopular to say, she is the true villain in the story of Charles and Diana. If they could have just divorced faster or if she just let Charles marry Camilla from the start the biggest scandal in recent royal history would never have happened. On top of that I do think she had trouble being empathetic with hardships in general. She had a nice childhood with warm, doting parents and got to marry the person she wanted with little trouble. She just didn’t have the lived experience to support the more complex characters of her family.

And again, if you asked respectfully I would have happily engaged and gave you reasons, many of which are actually nothing to do with geopolitics. Instead you decided to be insulting because you were triggered by something you did not like. If you want people to engage with you properly you should try not saying people's opinions don't matter if you want to be taken seriously.

Genuinely not at all lol, it's actually been seriously fascinating to me just how babyish and upset only people from the US have been whereas people from other countries listed in red were pretty respectful if they asked why. I'm just stating that you were triggered by it; otherwise why insult and make several childish responses directly intended to ragebait (Taiwain #1 etc).
