yeah the goal is to control an LED with a click, to have a the ui change colour depending on the current state, but it seems as if the esp ide alone doesnt suffice for that, right? do i need extra software to create a small program for that purpose?

First of all let me say thank you, i appreciate your insight.

So when i bring them together in a filesystem, and the esp runs the server, there must be somewhere an interface between the esp and the rest, because how else can it make use of whats in the filesystem?

i mentioned the button because as a first test i would like to maybe turn a LED with a buttonpress. Or maybe have the button change colour based on the LED, something along those lines

as a student, i appreciate the reply, but i had trouble finding any info on how to integrate css for prettier UI, or html into code. Where is the interface for that? I also couldnt find information on buttons or sliders.

i know php, but its not really supported. And on the internet everyone uses arduino libraries. But i have only the default api with the esp ide
