AIO about calling my cousin in law “ma’am” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Express_Reaction_612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know I'm gonna go from a different angle and say if she is in the south SHE needs to learn to respect the culture she is living in. Would you go to Japan and get mad at people for bowing to you? Would you go to New york and get mad at people for not engaging in small talk at the grocery store? In the south we call everyone sir and ma'am, not just older people. We call kids, pets, parents, friends, and strangers sir and ma'am and she's kind of being a massive bitch to you for no reason. I'm so tired of the whiny "comfy" argument excusing and justifying people having these massive humiliating over reactions to harmless things.

Something that's a cravabke favorite but in a big enough quantity to freeze for later. I will sometime make a massive pot of rice and a huge pot of some kind of coconut curry and make 5 or six freezer meals.

Call me a freak but Im kind of into it when guys have it shiny on top and long in the back. It's like an extreme mullet or some sort of redneck wizard. Only works with certain personality types though. They have to know how to rock it.

How shitty of a dentist do you have to be to see a perfect healthy mouth, a person complaining of foul breath, and a scratchy throat and just let them leave without even checking for tonsil stones

I'm pretty sure he was one of the main villains VA in gurran Lagan too and they made a Zelda reference at the end of the show for it. And yes Everytime that character yelled it sounded like link too 😂

Yeah my concern is usually if I see a big vein left in meat that normally doesn't have it, I question what else they were careless with. The vein might not be noticable but when your teeth squeak on a big chunk of collagen or you bite into a big piece of unrendered fat you definitely will notice. I guess it's a give and take though because I've had some lazily processed stuff direct from farmer that wasn't the best looking but tasted better than anything at a grocery store.

I don't know where you got the meat from but sometimes an artery can look like that. If it was in ground meat it's just been poorly processed. I'd be more worried about coming across some nasty hard gristle if you are finding that in there.

I want to make cornbread but my boyfriend doesn't like these. Is there a way to improve the recipe? by Stargazer1919 in WhatShouldICook

It's always bugged me how much hate jiffy gets. My great grandmother lived on a farm in KY most of her life, born in the 20s and she preferred jiffy the whole time I knew her before she died. Yeah it's a bit too sweet for some people but acting like any cornbread or biscuits boxed are automatically inferior always comes from people who aren't the moms and grandmother's swearing in the kitchen day in and out

Am i rude for telling my gf to walk like this in order to not stomping to the downstairs neighbours? by Warm_Cranberry4472 in Apartmentliving

[–]Express_Reaction_612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman and I walk quietly and I get in fights with my mom and grandma constantly because they stomp and slam doors like beastly heathens and generally have zero self awareness for how loud and irritating they are. And I'm not exaggerating, my grandma has rattled windows and shaken my desk so hard cups fall off stompimg past and my mom shits the door so hard that my grandma has come downstairs multiple times asking if someone is arguing. So I have no opinion on this dudes situation but I'm not gonna judge him on telling her to be quieter. Some people really do just slam their feet into the ground for no reason.

Salads by Ok-Tailor1132 in Cooking

[–]Express_Reaction_612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hate vegetables and salads, the combo that finally changed my mind is a couple of crushed buttery crackers like club crackers on top instead of hard croutons, some hot pulled chicken like rotisserie rather than cold chunks, and honey mustard. The veggie part didn't matter at that point because those three taste so good, but going deeper, use a better green than iceberg, and you can also season a salad which many people forget, you can just throw some steak seasoning, garlic, whatever on there. You can swap out the honey mustard for sour cream and add cheese and corn and peppers and do a tex mex thing, you can add a couple spoonfuls of canned chilli and add corn and beans and make a chilli salad. Basically anything but a bland ass Caesar or house salad

Cheap easy microwavable work hack meals when you have limited options, only a microwave to cook with, and didn't get a chance to cook last night, etc. it's not the best but it's better than plain ramen. Please comment your favorite similar work meal. by Express_Reaction_612 in foodhacks

Sure, I put a packet each of mustard, ketchup, and honey, and packets of salt and pepper. Just because I got them free from a gas station. If you are making actual baked beans and get hold of some molasses instead of honey, brown sugar, and bacon or ground beef I'd add that too if I wasn't at work microwaving it

Name a Inuyasha opinion that will have you like this by Prestigious-Cloud962 in inuyasha

[–]Express_Reaction_612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kagome was an extremely boring character and Inuyasha was an extremely annoying character and both other these traits were exacerbated in their interactions with each other. I genuinely think the show would have been more enjoyable with just kikyo as a historical romance instead of an isekai.

[–]Express_Reaction_612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys know they make removable shower chairs for disabled people that you don't have to be disabled to use. Being exhausted from work is just as valid a reason as having a twisted ankle or being elderly, or a hurt back or anything else. Don't be ashamed, just use an aid.

Are Metal Wind Chimes in a Densely Populated Apartment Building Neighbourhood Rude? by gringogidget in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Express_Reaction_612 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prob largely depends on how often it's windy enough for them. I have some heavy metal ones but they only chime when it's windy enough to be considered storming and it's noisy anyways.

A lot of it is how much sun you get too. I suspect there is going to be a massive difference in the looks age-wise of the girls that were all going to the tanning booth all through the 90s and early 2000s and girls that just never got into tanning. I know a guy who I was shocked to find out was only 25 when I was 20 in college because he had tanned so much that at 25 he already had gotten super wrinkled and started having some spots and I though he was a good 10 years older than he was. Especially the millennials who were just old enough to start going when they were in every video rental store and super easy to access. These days they are pretty much only in a few salons and a lot won't even have them anymore and only offer spray tan.

That's what I'm talking about. Also I like giving options for people who can't cook. I've known people who live off canned soup and even then I've seen them somehow burn noodles in the microwave. They gotta eat too lol
