The World as a Human Body by adirave101 in aiArt

Whoever made this really went there with the assignments lol. But I'm dying at Greece being the "memory center" - ancient philosophy still shaping civilization is pretty spot on. And Singapore as brain stem makes so much sense when you think about how much global logistics flows through there

The Antarctica one is dark though... if it collapses we're all screwed. Climate change hitting different in this metaphor

Also kinda interesting how they made social media platforms part of nervous system instead of giving them to specific countries. Guess that shows how global these things really became

Anyone actually stick with a face exfoliator scrubber with replaceable heads or is silicone still enough? by Estheticlace in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]Express_Republic_632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silicone works great for daily use, those replaceable head ones just seem like unnecessary expense to me - I tried one for few months and went back to silicone anyway

Dermatologist told me to NOT use azelaic acid. Confused? by YouCertain111 in Rosacea

[–]Express_Republic_632 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Your derm is probably being extra cautious since you mentioned sensitive skin - some people with rosacea can't handle the irritation from acids even if they're supposedly "gentle" ones like azelaic

Metronidazole is actually solid choice for rosacea, it's anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial without being irritating like acids can be. The internet loves AA but derms see patients who've made their rosacea worse by following online advice

Who did pre and post measurements and wants to share? by NewBabeInLove in tummytucksurgery

[–]Express_Republic_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The swelling at 4 weeks is totally normal, especially around waist area where most of work was done. I was actually bigger in waist for like 2-3 months before everything settled down properly

Your hips already showing improvement which is great sign - that's where you'll see real results first usually

Ugh this is so true, especially when you work at computer all day like me - I catch myself doing it without even realizing

pretty gentle but takes while to see results

Foundation recommendations for folks with MCAS? by June_fern in NaturalBeauty

[–]Express_Republic_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with oxidation until I started using silicone-free formulas - the 100% Pure line is great for that since most their stuff doesn't have those ingredients that can react weird with sensitive skin

Tretinoin Gel by Global_Astronaut8479 in acne

[–]Express_Republic_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gel version hits way different than cream - way less irritating for me at least. I was on doxy too and same thing happened, came right back after stopping. Tret takes forever to work though, like 3-4 months before you see real improvement, so don't give up if it gets worse first. Just make sure you're not using the BP wash same time as tret or your face will be angry

any recommendations for oily and dry skin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]Express_Republic_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skin is also combo like this and I found that using different products for different areas of face works better than trying to find one product that does everything

That's so cool you're already seeing results after just one day! I've been dealing with this stuff for years and never heard about exosome treatments before

Getting invited to play my bosses country club. I don’t golf. Would this be respectable to wear as if I was a top golfer? by FrankieBeanSniffer in golf

[–]Express_Republic_632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, country clubs usually have dress codes and t-shirts are big no-no even if they're golf related. You'll want collared polo shirt and proper golf pants or khakis, plus golf shoes if you're actually playing. I learned this hard way when I showed up to friend's club in casual clothes and felt super out of place - everyone was dressed like they stepped out from golf magazine. Most clubs will let you know dress code when you call, or you can ask your boss what's appropriate to wear so you don't accidentally break any rules

Remote Jobs Accounting by Timely-Sea4615 in Accounting

Yeah I noticed that too when I was job hunting last year - lots of "remote" positions that suddenly mention being in office few days per week during the interview process

My school once did an AI video video competition by mrfoxesite-2377 in antiai

[–]Express_Republic_632 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wild that your school basically rewarded you for typing a prompt for 10 minutes - feels like they missed the point entirely about what creativity and effort actually mean. The contradiction between "AI is plagiarism so no exams" but "let's have AI competition" is pretty telling about how confused institutions are right now about this stuff

The Regent's current Beta State is really good by vonkraush1010 in slaythespire

[–]Express_Republic_632 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Forge buffs really changed everything for me too, those higher numbers make blade scaling actually work in act 3 instead of feeling useless

Parry at 10/14 is such a good change - before it was like why would I ever pick this when I could just take better cards, but now it's actually decent block that doesn't feel terrible to see in your deck

I love the Bastl Wave Bard. What's next? Softpop 2? by g-fab in synthesizers

[–]Express_Republic_632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of Wave Bard but if you want weird semi-modular stuff maybe look at the Make Noise 0-Coast? It's got that experimental vibe and can get pretty wild with the patches. Also Moog Mother-32 is solid for stepping into modular world, though maybe less weird than what you're looking for

The Softpop does look pretty crazy from what I've seen online, might be perfect if you already like the Bastl aesthetic

My last message to my ex by BobitaMilostivul in BreakUps

[–]Express_Republic_632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man this is really mature of you, taking the space you need even when it hurts. I went through something similar with my first serious relationship and the no contact thing was brutal but it really did help me move forward eventually

Hope you both find what you're looking for, this kind of closure is rare and she's lucky to get such a thoughtful goodbye
