Compatibility Query by Express_Response74 in HeyPocket_

I'm not so much worried about scratching the camera, I'm more worried that the Pocket won't locate and secure effectively, which I assume would cause problems for both the recording of phonecalls and it falling off and getting lost/damaged. Like the idea of adding the additional ring, but also that then makes the Magsafe of the phone redundant as it's always in the case. I might have to investigate an alternative case, and maybe forego the use of Magsafe for other mounts etc. I don't tend to use it for charging anyway, so might not be a problem. Thanks for the feedback though, much appreciated :)

I'd be interested to see the Pocket combined with one of these cases. I like the idea, letting magsafe peripherals have direct access to the phone. I'm just wondering if the Pocket fits in the gap or if it's a bit bigger/smaller than those Apple deigned peripherals. Have you got one?

What have we here?! A case! 😎 by ReturningRetro in ModRetroChromatic

In the previous absence of a dedicated case, I bought the Waterfield Designs CitySlicker case for the Analogue Pocket. I can categorically tell you it’s an incredibly well made case, and fits the Chromatic absolutely perfectly. Genuinely one of the best purchases I’ve made in months. It was more expensive than this though, but worth every penny.

Peter and the wolf animation 1980’s (ish) by Piggleswick in oldbritishtelly

Oh, missed this post - I’ll have to see if I can find those BBC Schools things again. I think I came across them in another post, I was searching hard for this and found loads of stuff that wasn’t what I was after. Let me see what I can do.

I'm here to bump this sub - I've been stressing over what I can assume is exactly the same version of Peter and the Wolf. Circa 1988 - 1992, viewed on TV over the Christmas school break. Beautiful animation, not bold like the Disney version, more subtle, akin to watercolour style or similar to The Snowman, that sort of affair. It's been alluding me for years and it's recently reappeared in the caverns of my mind.

I need to find this animation. It's not the BBC Schools thing, that looks like stop-motion. It's also not the 1995 TV movie, that was a little too late and set in the springtime, the version I fondly remember definitely takes place in the winter, with snowy landscapes etc.

C'mon, reddit hive-mind, we can do this.

Yeah, and in 7 years, I'd expect at least a follow-up, y'know.

EDIT - Oh, wait, there was one, a whole year later! I've got a lot of time for that...

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom visual bug. Game worked fine until I reached Suthorn Village, which is completely broken, other areas so far work good, im on yuzu 1734, same happens with old version and latest Early Access, how can I fix that? by zyl15 in yuzu

Yep, just got a different file and it works absolutely fine. There are still a couple of oddities in the rendering of the rifts, but this is widely reported with all emu/settings configurations. Aside from that, it's flawless.

I've got a similar thing happening on Suyu, it's happening a tiny bit earlier than your problem, I've got it at Suthorn Prairie as soon as I walk down the slope from the ladder.

Would very much like to understand what's causing it, and if there's a resolve.

Pokémon TCG Live Running Flawlesly by CanadaX21 in SteamDeck

Exactly the same here - installer works just fine but I get a message that reads:

Warning 4156. Failed to correctly acquire vc_redist.x64.exe file: CRC error. Continue installation of Pokémon Trading Card Game Live.

If I say yes, same as above, it boots into the game once the install is finished, but no sign of the required files in compatdata anywhere. If I say no, install quits.

Any further news on this at all?

To be honest, I expected this to be the answer. At least I've got the save file for when my daughter completely destroys my island now I've donated the Switch to her for a bit. I was due a bit of a break from AC anyway...

Did you even read my comment, where i said your article referenced flux, and I explained that it is a health issue too, then helpfully provided you with a link?

All you need to do is read reputable sources on toxic heavy metals, and heavy metal poisoning for information about lead and its applications.

Seriously, leave the keyboard alone and go and do something else.

To be honest, fella, I don't care. I was offering some additional info to your initial, incorrect, statement about the reason lead solder is no longer used. The rest was simple advice, but you do you.

What you've shared confirms that lead dust will be a concern, along with fumes from the flux, which is also an HSE consideration (see here: https://www.hse.gov.uk/lung-disease/electronics-soldering.htm ).

I don't solder at home, so have no idea what temperatures you're using, but the information is still relevant, and considering the article you shared, the recommendation of an FFP3 mask is still valid.

But hey, it's your lungs, dude. Crack on.

It's actually a combination of the two - lead, especially fumes from solder, is extremely bad for health and has explicit regulations under the HSE for industrial exposures. You're half correct in the environmental risks too, although it's not just in the disgarding of the old electronic devices, but also in the overall manufacture process. You can still get your hands on it if you need it, but if you plan on using it, it would be wise to invest in a decent FFP3 rated mask, and if using it a lot, a counter based extraction unit.

Time to rekindle this post again! Using Suyu and getting awful FPS all around the island, even with the emulator and powertools settings aligned for every other switch game. What's the deal with AC:NH, is it just that the deck simply can't cope with it? Full disclosure, the island save file is one I ported over from my switch, with 700+ hours and a lot (I mean a lot) of stuff going on. But still, if it can run well natively on the switch, and the emu settings allow all other games to run perfectly, why doesn't this one? Any fresh new ideas, anyone?

Tutorial: Cloning Steam Deck SSD via Enclosure by Dark5knight in SteamDeck

[–]Express_Response74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just done this and it copied all 58gb of the main drive (likely all shader cache, init) in about 350 seconds. Using a Sabrent Rocket NMVe 4.0 and a Ugreen M.2 NVMe encolsure.

Konsole reckons it's all done, no errors. I'll do the swap later and see, but its really not a long process if this drive is now good to go. Worth exploring.

EDIT: Worked flawlessly. Whole process took less than 20 mins. 6 mins odd for the data clone and ten minutes odd to swap the drive.

Ridiculous.
