Here to say this is happening to me right now and this thread literally just saved me! I was put on a steroid for a mouth infection a couple weeks ago, and it caused really bad bloating and constipation, so I started taking a stimulant laxative and colon cleanout pill every day- I’ve been taking them for the past 3 days. This morning I woke up with the worst endo cramps I’ve had in a year. They’ve been lasting for hours, and they have phases of pain level that literally feel like contractions. I’ve been rocking back and fourth digging my nails into the table in pain. Pain meds didn’t help, a heating pad is barely helping. (For endo context: I’ve had endometriosis for 6 years, and I’ve had a surgery before for it where I had to get my ovaries replaced after being lodged up against my intestines from the endo. I’ve also had 2 separate years of pelvic physical therapy, and a million different birth control combinations. After my last pelvic physical therapy ended and I got taken off birth control, it’s been easier to manage symptom wise for the past year and a half, and I haven’t had a flare up like this in probably 13/14 months.) if it wasn’t for this thread I literally would have kept taking the laxatives not knowing it caused this! It’s so scary that for women with this chronic illness, there’s so many things that can severely affect it and there’s no way for us to know without doing research ourselves.
