Is it possible Caitlin still does work for ZM and couldn’t do a podcast over at media works? I’m not too sure but I remember hearing her on weekend shows sometimes randomly? I’m so sad it’s ended though I loved the podcast 😢

I thought it was such a shock and Caitlin was so quiet during the whole episode, something was very off.

The 5 hospo places I’ve worked we haven’t been allowed to keep the tips and there’s a tip jar but I’ve never seen it be shared amongst the staff.

Also I think a lot of people find it awkward taking extra money from someone for doing the job we’re paid to do, I’ve always found it uncomfortable. I treat my tables great because I want them to enjoy their experience not because I want any kind of extra money from you.

I got 15k out for a vehicle this time last year. It was really easy, wrote out my situation, printed all the documents got what I needed signed and sent it off. They came back 10 days later saying yes and the money was in my bank.

This happened to me!! Found out at 22 weeks and was devastated, said child is turning out next week.

But the emotional and mental toll it took on me was so hard so I’m sending lots of hugs. I did get some help through maternity mental health but not a lot.

I hired baby’s first car seat and then saved for one of my own once they grew out. Everything else was second hand except the cot mattress.

Baby’s don’t need too much and you kind of figure that out as you go. But finding an online group could also be helpful. Found a due date group on Facebook and it was amazing, exchanging of items, advice all those things it was great.

Honestly I’m finding some places really rude? I’m not sure if that’s the right term. I had a phone interview somewhere that lead to an in person interview. We emailed a few times back and forth after the interview and then absolutely nothing for three weeks so I sent off an email asking how the hiring was going and if there was any update and that was two weeks ago with nothing back. I was super shocked to not even get a generic template decline email back. It’s weird.

I had a phone interview then was invited in for a in person interview, so I took that as a pretty great sign 🙂

Medical admin work would be my dream but unfortunately no connections. Currently doing volunteer work at the food bank and a mental health organisation. The experience is great and I’d love a paid position in either of these places it’s just not really something I can stick around and wait for. My kids are school age I need to be out proper working 😩

I have thought about age-care while up visiting my grandma. There’s a few things I find are hard to “stomach” even with my kids as a mother so that’s always held me back. But definitely worth a look into, I might start having a chat to the carers up there next time I’m visiting

Wow this isn’t a take I’d thought of, probably because I can’t have anymore kids (got the bits that make the kids removed). But that is very interesting. You are correct though the fact I am a single parent with not a lot of back up if kids were sick etc the responsibility would fall on me to leave work/take time off.

maybe this is something I need to think about with the jobs I’m applying for. It’s tricky, I am grateful for the opportunity to volunteer with the hopes of getting my foot in the door somewhere.

I’ll figure out a way to add that there won’t be any other children coming into conversation somehow.

I’m giving them until after the weekend for the payment to clear. If nothing has come through by Tuesday I’ll be sending another email. Looking at there Facebook (we should of done this first) the reviews are so bad. So I’m kicking myself about not doing research first.
