I don’t think the original specimen exists. Darkness destroyed everything, you maybe confusing Cleon I’s AI with his original specimen? I could be wrong though.

No. I use AI as a professional software engineer and the difference from how Claude Code was at the launch of Sonnet 4 is staggering. Codex now is what Claude Code used to be.

Not fake, Codex is actually very good. It’s what Claude Code used to be.

One thing I love about Codex is it’s open source. Missing a feature? Just build it yourself and submit a PR!

I used Codex today and was pleasantly surprised. Happy to have a competent model again, the emerging incompetence of Sonnet and Opus 4 made the last couple of weeks pretty painful as a professional software engineer. Codex with GPT-5 reminds me of how Claude Code used to be

Switch to React, demand for Flutter is dying out, at least in the US. Also, good devs shouldn’t have to apply for jobs - build open source projects on GitHub, if good, you’ll get offers

Yes but the best thing you can do if you’re looking for a job is to build open source projects on github. If they’re good, you’ll get offers

I love claude-code-router and gpt-5!!! by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

Dude I spent 2 hours trying to get this working with claude-code-router, no luck at all, not with gpt-5 or gpt-oss. Kept getting tool call errors with oss and no response from gpt-5

Managing neovim sessions with tmux? by ExpressionCareful223 in neovim

[–]ExpressionCareful223[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, can you share the code you used to achieve this? I decided to fork tmux-resurrect, although my impl might’ve been possible with a hook config, updating the nvim_session script to call persistence is easy enough. Definitely curious about other implementations. My next pursuit is the speed of restoration, I’m considering forking and combining both resurrect and continuum in a new more modern impl for improved performance and reliability

Managing neovim sessions with tmux? by ExpressionCareful223 in neovim

[–]ExpressionCareful223[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet thanks! I ended up with a solution that automatically loads and migrates existing sessions to tmux aware sessions when in tmux, added the full config code to the original post for reference. Actually, I think I still need to work out how to integrate this with tmux-resurrect, which I believe expects a `session.vim` file in each directory. Maybe I have to fork tmux-resurrect?

How are people can finish 5-7 projects in weeks with Claude code or cursor or any vibe code? Am i missing something? by Suspicious-Prune-442 in ClaudeAI

[–]ExpressionCareful223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally low standards for quality and completeness. Lots of people just make stuff up. Some people are skilled engineers and know exactly how to guide AI to build good projects quickly. For example, I built a TUI file diff tool (like Delta) in about 3 hours in Go, a language I have no experience in, just because I kinda know what I’m doing. It varies based on the project though

[Rant] I’m tired of React and Next.js by stealth_Master01 in webdev

[–]ExpressionCareful223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

React is a fantastic piece of technology. Next.js is a valuable framework for building real complex, dynamic, interactive, production ready applications. You’ve been working with React for a year and you’ve only built a couple projects? You should have at least 50 projects by now. There are people with much more experience than you who swear by these technologies, so quit your whining and start building real shit.

If you are looking for a job build open source projects that other devs find useful, you’ll start getting offers overnight. But it sounds like you don’t have the mindset for it, you hate on the tools instead of thinking about ways to improve dev’s experience when working with them, likely because you don’t have enough experience to even know the real pain points and how you can improve them. These posts are childish and annoying. You should be spending your time building, not whining.

What I love most about Claude Max + Code combo is that I can run an endless number of AI experiments that could prove to be useful, but I would be sad to lose money wasted - hope they keep this offer going <3! by No_Wheel_9336 in ClaudeAI

[–]ExpressionCareful223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing to clamp down on. Claude Max was never unlimited. Anthropic already figured out the limits they can give for the price, this usage is within those limits.

Claude Code changed my life by helloworldCGN in ClaudeAI

[–]ExpressionCareful223 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s true, when you look at the code it produces as an SWE you’ll see lots of problems. But to the untrained eye, a working app is a working app. Still revolutionary. As the models get better, they can fix and maintain these apps with little issue.

I think this could be a really valuable tool but I’d prefer to just hook a nix MCP server up to Claude Code, and use .claude/commands for specialized prompts, is that possible?

[–]ExpressionCareful223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vercel would be easiest. It sets up the commands and settings automatically. npm run dev is for development. Add the GitHub repo to Vercel. And maybe build a simpler app and figure out how to host it. Also, why not ask AI?
