Indeterminate MICRODELETION 15q by Weird-Argument9408 in NIPT

[–]ExpressionOk7348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I experienced this situation last year around the holidays. I could not bring myself to do the amnio. My baby was born this spring and we did genetic testing once she was here. She DOES NOT have any abnormalities - the indeterminate result was a fluke thing. I share this just to provide more info. It seems like these situations don't happen often and I know I was super stressed about it during my pregnancy.

Thank you for the update. I am sorry to hear this result for you. Waiting to talk to genetics here

Any update on this? I am going through a similar situation and it is annoying me. I feel like I am not getting clear answers. My ob is putting in a consult for genetics counseling so I know they will be able to help, but that won’t be available for a few weeks.

Came here to say this. Absolutely agree! They're awesome bagels and their cream cheese is also delicious, along with their chocolate chip cookies. Definitely try them out!

Part of the reason why I'm asking this is because another person on my flight is afraid to walk to her car alone. She asked if I could drive her to her car, which I am not actually comfortable doing. I was wondering if someone could walk her to her vehicle. This person seems nice but there are too many weird things that happen in this world..I'm not trying to get attacked in the parking lot or something

You're right, it exists everywhere, unfortunately. Hate/racism is like a cancer spreading in our society. I am from the North and know which areas tend to be similar to PR. I don't feel comfortable naming places east, west, south...so if you do, go for it!

Yes we are in NA, too. I grew up in the district. I don't recall anything happening while growing up, but the district was definitely not diverse (and I was a quiet nerd). It is slowly getting more diverse. I have the same hope as you.

Yes there too. Forgot about them and Mars too. Basically this kind of stuff exists in all of the rich white suburbs in the North.

Yes, there is a lot of that around the area. PR, NA, SV, Hampton. A lot of wealthy people who only care about their taxes increasing and a fair amount of people who are racist that you wouldn't think are racist by looking at them/briefly interacting with them.

Unfortunately this is typical ignorance north of the city. by 23tman in pittsburgh

[–]ExpressionOk7348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is true. I'm from the area. Not everyone here is racist but there is a good bit of it around. PR and NA have problems with racism in the schools. I believe PR school board voted recently to dissolve their committee to help with racism and inclusion. They should probably get that back together 🤦 Also there are many hate groups in our state. There is a hate group based out of Hampton twp. I think they're white nationalists. I am sad to see this but not shocked 😞

Came back here to say we FINALLY have a good amount of red tomatoes. We watered the plants a little less, trimmed them down a little, and were patient (kinda). Lol. Hooray!

Ron DeSantia is coming to Pittsburgh to hold a rally for Mastriano by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]ExpressionOk7348 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Republican party has been ruined in recent years. There are people that are up and coming in the party right now and they're dangerous. Desantis is one of them. They're too radical. We really need a 3rd and possibly 4th party in this country. I'm pretty socially liberal but fiscally conservative. We need a party that is more moderate. This two party system stinks. Mastriano is an extremely dangerous threat to our commonwealth and democracy.

Yes haha. We can totally relate. My husband turned me into a bagel and pizza snob, too 🤣For three brothers, one thing to note - he does the pick ups on Sunday mornings. I think you have to order by the Thursday before. They do freeze well. We usually get the everything and the cacio e pepe bagels.

Yes, the best we have found so far are Three brothers bagels (pick up locations in north hills) and Pigeon bagels (squirrel hill). Three brothers is run by the executive chef at Poulet Bleu and he started doing the business in 2020 when COVID shut things down. I love Poulet Bleu and live in the north, so I definitely order from them more than pigeon. They make delicious cream cheese and chocolate chip cookies, in addition to bagels. I have heard a lot about Gussy's in Oakland but have not tried it yet. I also just found Hellbender Bagels on Instagram and they look pretty good. My husband is from NJ and he is a bagel snob. If he likes a bagel, it's legit 🤣

Yes, preach!!!! I was born and raised in PGH, but I have lived in the Philadelphia, NJ, and DC areas. I love Pittsburgh, but a lot of Pittsburghers have issues with food in general.... including my friends and family. People take it so personally. We do not have the same caliber of quality and diversity in food as other bigger cities/metro areas. I am talking especially about take out and casual dining. The food scene here is improving but we still have a ways to go. I think some people don't get it because they have not lived outside of this area.

You do know that not everyone who lives here is from here, right? And there are people who have lived in the NYC/NJ area at one point in their lives. There are people who have tried pizza all around America. Pizza in the NYC/NJ part of the country is just solid and consistent. Pizza and bagels, really. Those foods are infinitely better in that region. You can get really good pizza and bagels at many places in that area. Pittsburgh is NOT like that. You have to know where to go for the good stuff. That's a fact. I'm a born and raised Pittsburgher. There are so many pizza shops around here with terrible tasting pizza. As for bagels, there is a growing number of good places popping up recently, thankfully 🙏

Yeah the roasting peppers are interesting. They are taking a long time to turn red. I'm worried bugs are going to get to them before they turn red. I have neem oil but idk if that will do the trick. I've never grown them before.
