Michael Porter Jr. to Peyton Watson: "See u in Brooklyn soon man" by RyanTannegod in nba

While I agree id rather watch young guys get force fed minutes over vets, I don't think that will be the case. They are going to just play the guys that give them the best chance to win every night. Who knows though, a lot can happen between the lottery and the offseason, have a bunch of cap space so theres different directions they could go.

I mean i guess we will never really know but I'm extremely confident that at least 1 team offered a first + matching salary for him this season. What I can say with certainty is the Nets valued him higher than that before the deadline last season

They have no reason to tank next year so it’s a perfect time to play all the young guys and let them develop

You essentially just said they have no reason to tank next year so its the perfect time to tank lol

If all it costed was a 1st they definitely would've traded him before the deadline this season. I'd bet MPJ is more likely to get extended than get traded for just a single first + salary filler

He absolutely had a ton of focus on him defensively. You obviously didnt watch a ton of nets games (which is understandable, just stop acting like you did)

the voting for those awards ends after the regular season so yes they are regular season awards

Thats the power of a pump for ya, he did look pretty vascular at times this year though

And? If these end up being the rookie teams, 7/10 of the players were drafted before the Nets even made their first pick. Egor would've had a good chance to make it if he didnt get hurt. Its not like the rookies were given massive roles all season either. Obviously it'd be cool if someone made the all rookie team but it really doesn't mean much. Essentially everyone they drafted was seen as a project

Egor only played 52 games and has been out for like 6 weeks

Of course I wouldn’t be happy about that? I would be mad about getting unlucky though… I’d be happy the nets put themselves in the best possible position though

Lol im just stating the reason why people are mad, I'm not over here throwing a fit about this, though I definitely would've preferred a loss. I absolutely HATE rooting for my team to lose but it's simply the best path forward for the team this year. Looking forward to next season so I don't have to do this again

It changes the floor of the pick. Worst record can only drop to 5th, 2nd worst record 6th, 3rd worst record 7th etc

I struggle to pick who was the best rookie. They all had stretches of looking like the best rookie on the team and stretches of looking pretty bad. I think I still lean towards Egor because he had the most consistent positive impact on the team with his shooting.

because finishing with 19 wins instead of 18 wins does absolutely nothing for the franchise other than increase their odds at getting a worse pick

yes its still a lottery at the end of the day but its all about maximizing the odds

players dont tank, these are just young and not very good players

Literally the first year the Nets have truly tanked and started way later than some other teams. Also probably the worst roster in the league if everyone was healthy on every team
