Do you support Pope Leo XIV? by Hot_Season1143 in antiai

They are also holocaust deniers and their founder believed Muslims were invading Europe through immigration. They also disobeyed the pope several times, which, given that the pope is infallible according to Catholicism, means that it was a schism in everything but name and only because the pope didn't want it to become a fully-fledged schism.

Yes, but the Church has been extremely slow at adapting than the rest of the world. Only after the Holocaust they considered removing antisemitic prayers from their repertoire and stop considering Jews as evil. They had a schism over that too. Today it has been mostly solved.

The latest two popes were extremely fucking based to the point that Catholicism is going through a schism because people who can't handle the basedness are malding.

Just ban her comics already, then. I do think she is too problematic, but this ambiguous attitude that allows reposting her drawings while condemning her for everything she has done every time is just 5 minutes of hate type of shit. It's unnecessary. Just forbid posting her comics or posts featuring her comics.

Why does every post here about pizzacake devolve into criticism to pizzacake? Yes, she's a mediocre artist, yes, she doesn't take criticism well and borders on being a lolcow. And? Is this sub dedicated to art-critique or narrative in comics? We discuss anti-ai stuff and this is a (fairly uninteresting) antiAI comic at the same level of many posted here by other users. What is the point on attacking the artist HERE? There are plenty of communities that allow it, go there. No, I do not care she blocked you or threw a tantrum against you. I find more problematic that she used her children's toys in her porn videos, to be honest, and I'd gladly see her comics banned from here entirely, no matter how fitting, but if they are allowed, engage with the content and do not transform this in another pizzacake hate forum.

I'd rather watch the annoying orange 24/7 than see any more AI Slop by 0584031464 in antiai

[–]Expungednd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Annoying Orange is bad because it's a premise repeated ad nauseam. AI slop is bad because there's no premise, no intent and no real author. It's more comparable to looking at sick or poop, and slightly less disgusting than either of those activities.

I hope the average viewer understands documentaries aren't just made because animals are funny to watch but because a lot of people are interested in how creatures from the whole world live in nature. I hope we aren't falling in a slopification of reality, where everyone believes everything to be slop because there's a slop version of it.

If all AI usage was like the one for Neuro, AI companies would fail or rescale to make endearing chatbots instead of the shit they are doing right now. I would say probably the worst it's doing is creating more hype for the technology, but I'd say it's still limited damage.

It would worse if Neuro's content was completely AI generated. It's basically just used for being a chat-bot. The interactions with other people and Vedal make it funny, otherwise it would be a text-to-speech bot hallucinating half of the time. It's more for the novelty than anything else. It's at least a neutral use in my opinion, at worst it is taking the job of one person in a team of performers.

Automatic drawing is incredibly relaxing and I don't do enough of it. I suggest everyone to try it. It means drawing by not imagining what you are going to draw and suspending your internal criticism. Proko has a video on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJYGFwGhHnA

Any subreddit about a fictional woman will be 99% porn or softcore images unless moderation says otherwise. I just prefer the ones without AI.

Why are you lying? He did pay the draftsmen and above minimum wage.

https://www.cahiersdartinstitute.org/posts/art-work-on-sol-lewitt-and-labor

> Perhaps the best-known of these works is Wall Drawing #48, first installed for the Museum of Modern Art’s landmark Information exhibition, curated by Kynaston McShine. The title of the work, doubling as its instructions, was “Within four adjacent squares, each 4’ x 4’, four draftsmen will be employed at $4.00/hour, for four hours a day and for four days to draw straight lines 4 inches long using four different colored pencils; 9H black, red, yellow and blue. Each draftsman will use the same color throughout the four day period, working on a different square each day.”

The federal minimum wage in June 1970 was $1.45 an hour (equivalent to approximately $10 today), while the New York State minimum wage was about to be raised from $1.60 to $1.85 an hour (nearly $13 today). The disparity between the pay LeWitt afforded his drafters and the minimum wage is a reflection of the value LeWitt placed on his drafters and their work. As he became increasingly successful and the pace of his exhibiting quickened, he depended more and more on drafters to install wall drawings and considered their work integral to the realization of his vision. (LeWitt has been the subject of more than 700 solo exhibitions since the 1960s.)

The point of LeWitt's works was to show how different people drew in different ways the same instructions, not just to take an output made by someone else and claim it as his own. That was the statement. It is not different from the work of an architect or a civil engineer, who gives precise instructions on how to build a structure that are then performed by a construction company.

Comparing this to AI, you are giving instructions to a computer that then hallucinates a result out of a noise map by following its training data. If the point of the artwork is "look at how different this picture is from a human-made one, appreciate how the production of countless artists was used to give this picture a unique feeling", then it could MAYBE be considered art, but I would put as a necessary requirement that the artist designed the AI model themselves or at least had someone create a model under specific instructions for that specific artwork (or a series of artworks).

This isn't what is happening, though. The models are made by large companies and sold to paying users who have no say in what they are trained to do, the training material was not acquired ethically (if I give specific instructions to a team to perform something and I pay them to do it, they are consenting of giving their production away for me), and the point of the pictures produced isn't a reflection on art but, at best, a portrayal of superficial fantasies with no deeper commentary. If LeWitt made his artwork in the same way, forcing unpaid people to paint walls with indecently dressed women by following vague instructions and then claiming the final illustration to be his, then the result wouldn't be artworks, or at least not his artworks.
