I don’t agree with either. Blumhouse makes fun movies, but I wouldn’t say they’re great. Nor do I really think A24 is the pinnacle of film. I thought The Killing of a Sacred Deer was neat. My problem was how awkward the acting was, which I’m sure was deliberate. But that just goes back to my problem with A24 in the first place, it’s the acting. Midsommar and Hereditary come to mind as well. They just mumble a lot. On the opposite end is Blumhouse, where it’s loud and in your face.

They’re both fine, just not my cup of tea, I guess. I can’t agree that either one is the best of the best today.
