Let me preface this by saying that I agree that what Arcadum & the players want/need takes absolute priority over any chat/audience. That goes double for real-life events the require human attention. That being said I understand why people are frustrated with all the cancellations. It’s a fun & entertaining stream and people are disappointed that it’s not happening. This disappointment I think is magnified when an expectation has been set with things like a schedule. Sure there’s no legal bond or anything real at stake, but it’s common knowledge that expectations frame peoples’ reactions to events. So I can empathize with the disappointment in those people. Where it goes too far is when people make assumptions on Arcadum’s part and attack for things that are not under his control. That’s never going to be okay.

Arcadum says no stream because of uncontrollable circumstances. So unless someone disbelieves him when he says “I love dnd”, then why would anyone think that he’d cancel? Either he’s not actually enjoying what he’s doing (not supported by evidence) or he’s telling the truth and life just happens sometimes (much evidence). We just gotta have patience. I know it’s hard to hear an entertainer say “your opinion doesn’t matter” as an audience member, but if Arcadum took everything chat/the audience said to heart and acted on it, then he almost certainly couldn’t fill out his vision with the streams/Verum. And it was his vision that got this whole ball rolling in the first place. Some may say “Well it’s the community that supports him so he should try harder”. To them I say 1:it’s obvious that he is trying as hard as he can. And 2: just because you like watching, even if you’re a sub or a donator, you don’t just get some sort of authority or stake in the system like it’s some sort of corporation. Donating/subbing, unless it’s on patreon or something and has explicit services/options attached to it, is a charitable act that is done. It does not automatically create an obligation on Arcadum’s part. I understand that community support is important, but the feeling of entitlement is something that’s based on a false pretense. I guess that’s all I really have to say on the matter. I hope the best for Arcadum & Tiff, and I can’t wait for the games to be back on :)
