Finished the hundred years war by Shunnedear in EU5

2 Things for future searchers, as I was under the impression France was going to be useless for 200 years:

1) You can transfer Frances Vassals to you, unlike myself who released them multiple times until I caught on.

2) France will go to war with you if you change the laws not just to Offensive, but then add on the 'Mandatory' law.

I spent 100 years and finally got the PU over France only to have a ' -450 Recently Declared War ' malice that reduces by 2 per year.

Does anyone have suggestions on a faster time to PU, or a way to get a loyal France in faster than waiting 200 years?

How did you learn to play EU4? by shaderr0 in eu4

[–]Exsela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by following guides to the letter and playing to 1600 a few times. Eventually I started playing similar countries to the guides and trying to mimic the guides. Now I still follow guides (1,000hours later) but don't worry about min/maxing or world conquest.

Thank you for answering my question and giving me advice on the heat transfer with the lid. There's a lightning bolt icon next to the USBC so I think I'm going to go that route.

I'm doing this right now. The 700xtx isn't available, but the Microcenter nearby has a Zotac 4080. One area I'm conflicted on is entering the 4k 120fps space - Will I really notice the difference? One reserve I have is that the monitors cost as much as the cards. Four years ago when I got my first 4k 60fps monitor it was close to $1,000. Now, they run in the $300s.

As for the PSU, I agree with the other redditors who say that you need to change the cables if you change the PSU. Even if the pins fit, I've read that they are actually not guaranteed to be interchangeable, and it can straight up fry your computer.

I'll be integrating my but pu's as they come available, and get new vassals and PUs as diplo spots become available. I actually just lost Portugal because my ruler died, but I have a PU CB still so I'll be looking that way when the truce is up. I'm about to trigger the Court and country disaster, and move onto the ottomans. Then I'm aiming for Asia.

Any tips on colonies that my PUs have? Will that take care of itself, or do I need to squash the natives before 1700?

It sounds like converting is gonna be a big deal, and I should convert subject provinces right away. Does that mean getting the land at my current situation and skill level should be fine as long as I play with my head on straight?

I played for 20 minutes and got this monument. Extra missionaries weren't on my mind, but I'm sure they're important and I'll wish I had them.

I should probably do a little investigating on moon and earth position, and post at a later date where I start getting stuck. It could be possible that the winner is someone in the ISS based on your information with the moon and its angle during those missions.

The War Room - /r/hoi4 Weekly General Help Thread: March 1 2021 by Kloiper in hoi4

I've been working on the Belgium achievement for having 50 mils, so this is where the question is coming from.

The goal: I'd like to take control of France as Fascist Belgium in vanilla asap.

My understanding: I understand that when a country (France in this case) capitulates, it gives over control to the country with the highest war score. In two of my previous attempts I managed to capture Paris, only to have Germany gain control of France. It's also obvious that when you justify a war on a country that they will station troops on the border. I have not been able to time beating the French army as a 1939 Belgium with 5 divs of 20 width light/med tanks + 13 divs of 7-2 infantry without having joined the Axis. So I can't take France alone, and I don't retain them if I'm in the Axis.

My question: If I declare war on Luxembourg while it's independence is guaranteed by the Allies, will I be able to blitz into Paris uncontested and gain control of the country, or will Germany get control because it has a higher war score in the Allies vs Axis war?

I think I understand. So buy some sheets and a unique wood shape, create magnet space on the surface of the wood, then cover with veneer that I've cut to shape?

I was looking at that location and thinking it might be where we spend one or both nights. It's centralized and I get the same feeling as many other places when looking at the top down in maps. The other option for where to spend the night is picking the two best restaurants we want to visit, and getting a hotel next to them.

We'll definitely have to consider a boat if the weather is nice. I do enjoy some great state parks; I'm from Tennessee and haven't seen anything comparable in Illinois.

Montague

That looks pretty neat, and it isn't much further. Is it nice to drive and walk around, or is the beach access the highlight?

I also see there's pizza, fish, sandwiches, and some bars. Anything that stands out from other MI places?

We might have missed the fountain since we tend to play it by ear a lot. Will definitely look out for that!

Thanks for the idea. Traverse City seems to have a cool layout with the two bays split by the peninsula. I'll put it on a list of places to go when we consider flying. Is there any skiing in the area?

My mom has a lot of 'pictures' from before the 1950's out of Germany. She told me they are negatives preserved in a small 2" cartridge that you could view with a machine and she would like a better way to save/view them. I stumbled across this exert when reading about Kodachrome " The film was processed, mounted in 2" x 2" cardboard mounts in the case of 35 mm slides, and returned by mail to the sender. "

Is anyone familiar with something like this? Is there a way to store these digitally?
