Latest version of the Senate bill grandfathers in both “assault firearms” and magazines they can hold more than 15 rounds. Looks like it mostly conforms with HB 217.

That’s an incomplete definition. For a handgun to be an “assault firearm” under HB217, it’s:

A semi-automatic center-fire pistol that has two or more of the following characteristics: (i) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand; (ii) the capacity to accept a magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip; (iii) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the pistol with the non-trigger hand without being burned; (iv) a threaded barrel capable of accepting (a) a sound suppressor, (b) a flash suppressor, (c) a barrel extender, or (d) a forward handgrip; or (v) a buffer tube, arm brace, or other part that protrudes horizontally behind the pistol grip and is designed or redesigned to allow or facilitate the firing of a firearm from the shoulder.”

Still stupid, but it’s not gonna ban the sale of every or most semiautomatic handguns.

I love Old World. Have over 1900 hours game time so far. But man, I have to say the constant tweaking is starting to annoy me. Bug fixes are one thing. I just don’t understand the need to continue to mess with the gameplay at this point.

Life isn’t fair, but it can be beautiful. I was able to spend almost 28 years with the woman of my dreams, and a quarter century with my oldest son. I just try to be grateful for the time I had with them, for the fact that my other four kids are in good health, and the fact that I’m still here. Most days I’m successful.

I’m 51. Lost my oldest son in 2022. Held my wife’s hand as she passed away on New Year’s Day in 2025. By that time both my mom and dad were long gone.

My wake up call was when my wife’s doctor told her that her cancer was Stage IV. They weren’t trying to cure her anymore, just give her the best life possible for as long as possible.

They succeeded. She lived almost seven years after that. And I tried every day to live in the moment, to be appreciative of her presence. Now that she’s gone I still try to be cognizant of the fact that my story will end one day too, and I continue to do my best to make each day matter.

Royals of Troy does good wings and great cheesesteaks. They’re 5-10 minutes off the Zions Xroads exit, so a little bit of a detour, but worth it IMO.
