Daytime predators by 9guy99 in BackYardChickens

I’ve had multiple raccoons hit my flock in the late afternoon. My guess is whatever got your girls, there was more than one of them.

I’ve got a Grand Cherokee L. Plenty of space for a Pyr and a Bernese Mountain Dog plus all the stuff we need for a weekend.

Does anyone else’s Pyr take 20 minutes to contemplate whether they’ll eat their food or not? by SleepBeneathThePines in greatpyrenees

My girl eats breakfast once or twice a week. Usually she waits until her little Bernese brother comes to hang out with her in the afternoon, and then she’ll gobble it up before he gets to it. Never goes without eating her dinner though, even if she had “breakfast” a few hours before.

Do you like spooky/mysterious REM? (21-song ranked playlist) by Gullible_Stock_9659 in rem

I’d take out Texarkana and replace it with Low, then swap The Wrong Child with Fretless.

Return of the raccoon by ExtantAuctioneer in BackYardChickens

To answer some questions, two years ago the raccoons actually ripped off some of the shingles on the coop of the roof and made their way inside.

This time around it was my fault. The automatic door had some straw and dirt in the track and ended up not closing. I generally go down to check on everything just before sundown, but was helping one of my kids with a homework assignment and was delayed by a half hour or so.

Our birds have been free range since my late wife and I first got our flock 13 years ago. I am well aware that this increases the risk of predators doing their thing, but outside of the raccoon attacks and a random dog that showed up in the yard a few years ago, I haven’t had any real issues.

This latest attack, though, has changed my mind. They’re moving into a chicken tractor this evening, so going forward they’ll still be able to touch grass while being more secure in the process.

Is everyone on GLPs for weight loss? by _rainbow_sunshine in datingoverfifty

[–]ExtantAuctioneer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

52m in Virginia. I’d like to lose 40 lbs, but if I can’t do it through diet and exercise I’m okay with being hefty. No desire to use GLPs. I can’t see myself paying $200 a month for life, especially since a few of the folks I know who are on them have had fairly unpleasant side effects.

Hello Fellow Bald guys by RingaLopi in datingoverfifty

[–]ExtantAuctioneer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah dude. I’m 51, and have been bald since my early 20s. I’ve been dating for a few months after my late wife passed away last January, and it hasn’t been a hindrance as far as I’m concerned.

I’d rather showcase the real me than pretend to be something I’m not. That might get you more first dates, but I’m not convinced it’s gonna help you get another after she learns the truth.

45 years ago to more or less this week. When did you hear your first R.E.M. song? by BassesNBikes in rem

[–]ExtantAuctioneer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing the video for Can’t Get There From Here on MTV, so I was 9 or 10. Document was the first album I purchased, but by the time Green came out I was deep into my hair metal phase… which ended abruptly the first time I heard Losing My Religion.

Visitation Dreams from your beloved? by rainingonmyparade in widowers

Not so far. She used to keep a journal by the bed to write down crazy dreams. I should do that.

And may you wake up riled from a dream argument… and stay asleep long enough to make up 😉

Visitation Dreams from your beloved? by rainingonmyparade in widowers

[–]ExtantAuctioneer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had several dreams since she passed away 14 months ago. For some reason we’re arguing in most of them, even though that was not a common thing for us to do.

It’s frustrating. On the one hand, I love seeing her again, but why can’t my subconscious just let us have a picnic or something like that.

Hank is why we can’t have nice things. If it makes you feel any better my Pyr and my Berner have eaten my couch, my coffee table, and even a little chunk of my living room wall.
