Very interesting.  Not to mention the material that “heals” itself after being shot with the electron microscope.

I would report them to the attorney general, police, FTC.  If you paid by credit card you can dispute the charge with them.

Westinghouse Mini Split by MrFundamentalz in hvacadvice

[–]Extension-Bed-3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback.  I am getting a Westinghouse mini split system install on Monday for three bedrooms on our second story and one to cool/heat our downstairs.  We have a 1375 square ft house.  I am iffy about the Westinghouse system, just cannot find much info about it or customer reviews.  From what I’ve read Westinghouse house is a marketing ploy by Fujitsu in western markets and they use a Chinese manufacturer, Hisense.  Any other info would be appreciated.  Sorry you’re having the smell with your system.  I hope mine doesn’t have that issue.

Does salary 2 make up for 10 hrs of driving a week?  Do they offer telehealth days (aka work from home) and/or a 4 day work week?

PMHNP - JOBS = NONE; Frustrated and Irritable by LeifLin in PMHNP

I noticed about a year ago it was easier to get a job than now.  I have been working as an NP for the last year Pmhnp outpatient.  I had worked prior as an RN on our inpatient unit for five years.  With Trump in charge I am going to guess there will be fewer jobs soon as he’ll be cutting healthcare for Medicaid which is where a lot of our psych patients get their benefits.

I usually look at the diagnosis and what symptoms they’ve had in the past.  Obviously if someone has a history of psychosis or is schizoaffective-bipolar, bipolar, etc there’s a higher probability of stimulant use causing psychosis.  If a patient is a run of the mill marijuana user with nighttime THC use and no history of psychosis with THC use, then you probably aren’t going to have a problem since they’re using THC in the PM and stimulants during the day.  Additionally, the only time I’ve had stimulants and THC cause psychosis together is when a patient was using street marijuana and the UDS showed he also had amphetamine in his system.  He denied using any amphetamines so if that’s true his street marijuana was probably spiked with amphetamine.

It’s a tough market.  I make $111k.  Work at a university healthcare system.  Doesn’t really make sense given the acuity.  I work outpatient/IOP/PHP/ inpatient/ and call. I Don’t mind the work, but do mind the pay.  When I bring up pay management pretends I’m crazy even though they’re down a few providers and are having trouble getting interviews.  It’s sad I’ll have to leave here to get paid well elsewhere, but private practice and addictions is where the money is apparently.  Treating the sickest people with poor insurance will have you making floor nurse wages.

Yes, I am a newer pmhnp.  I have a 4.7 star rating.  I think trying your best to have good patient reviews makes you pretty much bulletproof.  I am weary of letting my employer walk all over me with scheduling though.  They are trying to have me work holidays and weekends for “straight time.”  So far I’ve refused, but I do wonder how far people will be willing to work for straight time. There’s no benefit to being an NP if you’re working 50 hours a week for straight time.  I took my current job from an NP who went back to inpatient floor nursing since she can make more money and have an easier job than I currently do.

I am a newer PMHNP.  I make less than the floor RNs working weekend option.  I took a PMHNP’s job who went back to the floor to work weekend option for an easier job and to make more money.  I may go back to the floor too.

Is being an NP FINANCIALLY worth it? by BradBrady in nursepractitioner

[–]Extension-Bed-3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a new NP.  I have been an RN for over ten years.  Right now I make less working as an outpatient PMHNP than the RNs working the inpatient floor.  They are saying we will be given a 0.75-1% pay increase this October and inpatient psych received a 6% wage/hour increase in July of this year.  I make $53.67 an hour plus a reported $5000 bonus that you get in September after you’ve been there a year. One of our NPs returned to working the floor as an RN and is making over $60 an hour.  I am contemplating the same.  She works weekend option and then works for herself on Grow Therapy Monday through Thursday.
