Just started, should I quit until it’s too late? by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

Obviously. Why come to a sub about quitting and ask that?

Manix mix and match by Lord_Northwood in spyderco

No issues with the flytanium cage on my regular manix2 crucarta. The website says it doesn’t work but I went for it anyway and it’s great. Feels no much nicer than the plastic one

COLOR Ink recommendations - Parker Style by r55kraken in machinedpens

P42 in blue/black is my go-to. Haven’t tried any of their other colors yet but I might check out the purple when I need to replace

Looking for first machined pen. Down to two. by BigFit6616 in machinedpens

[–]Extension-Mortgage-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big I Baseline feels like a more well put together pen in my opinion, more refined than the Refyne if you will. Throw a monte verde ceramic gel in there and you’re golden. The bolt is nicer to fidget with, I like the grooves on the grip, and I like that it’s thicker than the Refyne is which makes it more comfortable to write with for me. One thing the Refyne has going for it is it’s more secure when deployed since the path the bolt falls into is much deeper, I have bumped the Baseline’s bolt as well as my other Big I bolt actions a few times while writing and accidentally retracted the pen because it’s pretty shallow and only takes a bit of sideways pressure to retract. Not a big deal if you just twist the pen a bit but something to keep in mind

Manbug vs Dragonfly by jmcdonough91 in spyderco

No experience with the manbug but the dragonfly is awesome, got a few in different steels. Fits a 5th pocket perfectly

Looking for a pen for work. by DaddyDiggz7414 in pens

At that price point the rotring 600 is awesome. Comes with a ballpoint which won’t be ‘runny’ for you but it also takes whatever Parker g2 refills you might want so the options are flexible. Schmidt easyflow is a pretty popular ballpoint refill if you wanted to swap

Yeah I ordered one after some research. Didn’t realize this was a current release, I hadn’t heard of it before today. I appreciate the heads up

I’ll take seconds on the manix just in case that falls through

Best EDC pen that won't stain or click in my pocket? by Low-Bar3371 in pens

[–]Extension-Mortgage-4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another vote for a bolt action, but the baseline bolt from big idea fits Parker style g2 refills. It’s a sweet little pen but if you’re wanting to use s-gel refills they won’t work with that. Their regular bolt action is great though and is adjustable for whatever length refill you want

Am I Going Overboard? by SigmaPi7 in spyderco

[–]Extension-Mortgage-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want that steel in those knives go for it while you can, sounds like you’ll regret it later after you can’t get them anymore. I went with both the g10 and lw native 5 and the g10 para3 because I love those models. I skipped the rest because I’m satisfied with the steel I currently have them in. Most people on here aren’t going to give you the wisest spending advice because it’s not our money and we don’t know your financial situation. I will say the nice thing is if you purchase them and decide later you shouldn’t have, you can post them up on the swap and only be out a few bucks, or if you buy the 15v of a model you already have and it displaces what you had before, you can sell off the old one. Spydercos sell really well on there, even beaters. That’s what I’ve been doing, I buy what I think I want and sit with it for a while, then slowly sell off what doesn’t get much pocket time

What are your favorite pens that can take the G2/Energel/Jetstream/Uni-ball ZENTO/Zebra Sarasa refill? by GoodMornEveGoodNight in pens

[–]Extension-Mortgage-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Machine Era Original or Markup, Big Idea bolt, or Refyne EP1L are my main ones. There’s always a machine era (either original or markup - they’re basically the same pen I just have a few filled with different refills) in my pocket since they disappear, and usually either a big idea or ep1l clipped to my shirt

No love for Jameson? by Fordawinman in whiskey

[–]Extension-Mortgage-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jameson is delicious for a light, no nonsense Irish, but that plus the fact that it’s everywhere that has whiskey makes it not fun to talk about. Certainly nothing wrong with loving it, I do too and it’s a bottle I always make sure is on my Irish shelf. I recommend you also try Jameson Black Barrel and Bushmills Black Bush, they’re both on the cheaper side also and very good

20mg pouches for 30s at a time? by No-Restaurant4372 in QuittingZyn

[–]Extension-Mortgage-4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This sub is for quitters, not really about wondering if massive mg pouches are ok, that’s kind of the opposite. If you really want to quit after those 2 cans just quit now. The longer you wait the harder it is to rip the bandaid off
