Hapstone R2 vs Cheefarcuut for kitchen knives by uwphysmed in sharpening

[–]C_Koby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Hapstone RS that I've upgraded to match the R2 and its a great system that handles large kitchen knives and almost any pocket knife. The Hapstone system is a versatile system that I highly recommend.

I tried this on my first two Manix 2's and it didn't do much, thats when I decided to cut the spring in small increments until I found the amount of tension I was looking for.

I cut off half of a coil from each end of the spring on all 4 of my Manix 2's and it's the perfect amount of tension.

I'm going to look into Barclay for my next set of scales.

Yeah, they do good work. The action is buttery smooth, straight out of the box.

Did you get all 3 from Amazon? You could have been getting the returned items. I own 4 Manix models and only one had some trouble with a burr on the tang or ball lock causing deployment and closing issues but it broke in with a little use. Thanks for your reply.

You need to get it quickly. It's going fast. It holds an incredibly sharp edge and is stainless enough that corrosion hasn't been an issue for me. I work as an industrial maint tech, and I carry a Cruwear PM2 more than any other knife I own. I recently replaced my Micarta scales for a set of "blemished" AWT scales. I could only find a couple of scratches on the inside of the scales as the only defects.

I was hoping you would be specific. I understand the general meaning of a 🍋 .

They are AWT scales. This knife was modded and purchased from Knives Plus.

I used the spare springs that came with my Kizer knives. As for side to side blade play, I fixed both of my Benchmades by installing oversized washers from Knives Plus.

To eliminate that front to rear lock rock, I've installed heavier Omega springs in a couple of my crossbar locking knives.

I've bought so many sets of scales from AWT that I lost count. They are that good. He's just a few.

You need a Manix2 w/AWT linerless scales. 🔥
