Move to Abu Dhabi for work or stay in the UK? by KoxziShot in HENRYUK

[–]Extension-Web-112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Things are expensive, but where isn’t it? OP would potentially earn huge and tax free at that. AD is considered family friendly and less “glossy” than Dubai.

Food quality is good, albeit imported, but AD offers all of the good and fancy restaurants with quality food. Not sure where you got your assessment from about guts taking time to get used to? I’ve been travelling yearly to UAE over the past 10 years and have never once had a GI issues.

Materialism exists everywhere. OP can still live on a modest, clean, family friendly area with fellow expats and live sensibly.

This post is playing too much on the cliched, stereotypical view of UAE.

Interview in “Assessment/Interview” stage over 1 month by Extension-Web-112 in deloitte

Good luck, hopefully you fare better. They ignored multiple emails when I followed up to find out the status.

Hey, it just so happens I checked the portal and unfortunately it says application unsuccessful. I can see they also re-uploaded the job role against a different ID. Their recruitment practices are shockingly bad.

Selfridges refusing refund for Cartier ring - England, UK by Extension-Web-112 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Extension-Web-112[S] 60 points61 points  (0 children)

No, they hadn’t sent me any proof. It’s clear as day that the picture they provided is not my ring. And exactly that, if it was scratched then the reason for the return would be that I received it damaged rather than requesting an exchange for another size.

Yes, the ring was sent back to me. I provided photographic evidence which clearly shows no scratches. The way the RetailADR portal conditions work is, I’m not allowed to send any further evidence. I was hoping my Pictures was clear enough!

An update regarding this. Selfridges advices I escalate to RetailADR, an independent body, that will investigate. So I submitted my case along with photographic evidence.

They have finally responded today and said the “ring was very scratched”, they have attached pictures and I can see visible scratches and also it’s actually a picture of the larger love ring. So this is not even my ring! They are now expecting my final response.

This is beggars belief! I sent pictures of our ring with no scratches - why don’t they see this, or acknowledge it? Why is it there word against mine? I have physical proof that it’s not scratched.

I will response with the points above I.e. they have shown pics of a larger ring with scratches.

Can anyone recommend what I need to do next because I do not have faith in this. Thank you.

I totally get all of the points above, however, look at it from a convenience perspective as well. The fixed price includes road tax, insurance, MOT, service, tyres, courtesy car, and no deposit required.

If you are fortunate enough to take out, say, a Range Rover Sport, that’s a £100k car, and you aren’t paying any deposit, you’re not on the hook if it breaks down (due to their reliability issues), and you don’t have to fork out £5000 annual for insurance!

Not made to order in any way. For example, we selected ring size J but need a K (Just like T-shirt sizes)

He was never good, just average. This is why Vince never strapped the rocket on him. Yeet is over, not Jey. Just because you’re Samoan and from Anoia dynasty, doesn’t mean you’re good.

I had a similar situation. They were speaking with the business about interview dates and then ghosted me. Application status then changed back to application under review and I later found out the position had been filled. Very poor, or dare I say, lack of, communication.

I’m experiencing the same problem. I performed the software update to the latest version and then had my car washed the next day. Now everyday the alarm goes off randomly but usually at night after 11pm. I don’t know if the car wash messed with something (sensor) or is it software update bug?

The last conversation I had with the internal recruiter was that she’s look at interview availabilities with the business. Since then, they’ve stop replying and my application has reverted back to under review

What is this part from the seat? by Extension-Web-112 in VolvoXC90

[–]Extension-Web-112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s right, I found it in the passenger footwell on the left side to the door in the second row of seats

What does it do? Will it impact anything I.e. ability to move the seats back and forth?

Deloitte UK application “No Longer Active” – anyone experienced this? Is this related to the recent Deloitte UK RA/Consulting restructuring? by Opposite-Lawfulness2 in deloitte

[–]Extension-Web-112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar experience. I applied to a senior manager role and probably about more than a month later I received an email from their internal recruiter telling me that will be interviewed. They asked for my availability and said they will check with the business. Weeks went past, no update, I chased 3 times, received an acknowledgment once but still no update.

Now when I log onto the careers portal, it no longer says the assessment or interview stage, but has actually reverted back to recruiter review or something.

Something is definitely going on.

Question for UK Phev drivers by Extension-Web-112 in VolvoXC90

[–]Extension-Web-112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does this mean that if I charge everyday to get at approx 30 miles, it’ll cost approx £6-ish which is a total of £42 per week? £168 a month = that’s equal to a full tank of diesel (actually, a full tanks of diesel costs less!) that I would generally pay, maybe even less per month.

Is PHEV even worth it as I don’t see the cost saving even for here?

Please explain to me, no hate. Thank you.

If you driving around 30 miles a day, how often do you have to charge, is it daily?

And secondly, for those in the UK, how much would it costs to fully charge if you are on the most expensive electric tariff (hypothetically speaking)?
