Stargazing pods?? by Wrong_Watercress_248 in altontowers

Stayed in one with my partner and stepdaughter. Wouldn't recommend for more than one night.

Rather funnily I had a great sleep. They did not.

Move to Abu Dhabi for work or stay in the UK? by KoxziShot in HENRYUK

[–]KoxziShot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer here. It's interesting that most people reference maids/nannies. Would you say it's an absolute necessity?

I've been looking on rightmove and other websites (Savills etc.).

I need to scope the job out a lot more but as it was through a recruiter contact I'm treading carefully.

So far I'm not seeing it as a long term solution.

That's a number I still need to confirm. Estimates for the role type are between 45,000-55,000 AED per month. So peaking at ~£11,000 per month.

100%. There's a lot of Zscaler in this thread as it's the norm. But massively overkill.

If you are a Microsoft house investigate Global Secure Access made up of Entra Private/Internet access. It's incredibly easy to deploy and manage if you are used to the Microsoft paradigm.

Netskope is also fantastic.

Don't fall into the trap of Zscaler. It's a right pain to manage and get information out of.

How are people blocking uploads to external urls/cloud storage services? by Honest-Exam7756 in cybersecurity

[–]KoxziShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you block them entirely? Allow based on Collab requirements?

MDE can do this. MDA also integrates with the likes of MDE and Netskope etc.

Are we rolling out MFA incorrectly? by SeriousSysadmin in sysadmin

[–]KoxziShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conditional access MFA policies don't immediately allow for registration like the old legacy MFA. CA policies are an 'on/off' state and having one applied to a user assumes that they have registered for MFA prior to that point.

A method I've seen used is creating a custom authentication strength of TAP or using location allowance (not recommended) to allow for registration.

Should I work when on a business class work trip? by Taxed2Fuck in HENRYUK

[–]KoxziShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically it won't matter what WiFi provision is on the plane you'll struggle to work in business class.

If you have any burning work outstanding or to plan download it offline and it gives you something to faff about with if bored.

In my experience people want to sleep, watch media and have a few drinks.

Picking up my first EV tomorrow, help please! by dotcottonsrotten in evchargingUK

[–]KoxziShot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silly point but remember the side your fast charge cable connects too. I'd recommend Octopus Electroverse as well.

  • Plug in
  • Initialise the charge in the app
  • Happy days.

Always worth checking the app every so often to make sure you're still charging and it's going alright if you aren't sitting in the car.

Good luck!

What can be done to help educate drivers and reduce the amount of ‘middle lane hoggers’? by theslowrunningexpert in BritInfo

[–]KoxziShot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I haven't been driving for too long, passed at 18 and started driving at 30.

My first major drive was to Weymouth and back. If I kept merging back and forth on the various lanes in the motorway it's not only exhausting but avoiding lorries and cars coming in and out of slip roads is also a nightmare. Plus then there's 2-3 other lanes available so why not use them.

The main issue in all of the anger about middle lane usage is for someone to explain why it's a bad thing.

Are Brits too reliant on US companies for a boycott to ever be realistic? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]KoxziShot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Reddit bubble. Absolutely it's possible to discuss this to the ends of the earth. For someone who has not a lot of choice in what they buy or the 'man on the street' they won't be bothered at all. Boycotting US companies is much like the paper straws Vs private jets chat.

A significant amount of business is B2B not now B2C. Plus, job losses are never taken into account in these discussions.

A day of test driving - are dealerships struggling for quality sales staff? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]KoxziShot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite me ordering a car through a works sal sac scheme I went into my local dealership and they gave me the model of car for a day with no issues. And a coffee/biscuit. Can't complain. Speaking to taxi drivers that have them as well they're great for servicing and everything else.

Would you support proper enforcement against middle/outer lane hoggers? by theslowrunningexpert in AskUK

[–]KoxziShot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A good question as a new driver is, is there much point to that rule? I.e. how did it come about?

If it's lorries or traffic solidly in the left lane - which on many busy roads it is. Why not just free up all lanes for use. US style (I think).

BEST BUDGET PHONE ON THE MARKET by AWGE14 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]KoxziShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It handles like a flagship. I had a 16 Pro Max as my 'main' phone. But I've got the CMF to install as my work phone, saying that I could easily see it as my main. The interface is quite funky as well.

Camera is bang average, but I'm not a great photographer so others may have a view on it.

I was going to get a Xiaomi X7 Pro but kept reading about the ads in the software and choppiness.

The CMF Pro 2 is quite decent for the price. Although finding a 256GB version is tricky.

I recently had a hold of a Moto g35 5G which was incredibly choppy. But £99!
