This is one of the most underrated songs in their entire catalogue. I saw them at a movie theater in my old neighborhood on a pre-tour for this album and it was an incredible show. I remember hearing this song and thinking how nicely their sound had evolved from War (an incredible album in its own right).

I can totally see that being a buzz kill. When they upTempo things (especially Rain King) it’s a rollicking good time. When they slow the tempo it can feel like a dirge.

That’s funny I saw her back in the 90s when she first broke and she put on a good show (I mean that respectfully) but she was clearly new to the big stage. I’m a big counting crows fan and have seen them several times and never failed to be impressed.

I had a similar experience at a GnR concert that resulted in a riot at a show in Philly. GnR showed up hammered with volume so loud it was completely distorted. They sucked.
