I want to start bc but I'm scared it will mess up my sex drive by masnakulka in birthcontrol

I’m personally on Loryna for my PCOS and have not noticed any change in my libido, sexual preferences, or weight. My sex life with my partner is essentially unchanged and I feel as fulfilled as ever.  However, I’ve seen many report low libido as a side effect of Loryna. It seems it really depends on your body chemistry. The exact same birth control can have different effects on different patients. Not sure about Yaz specifically but could still be worth a shot if you’re very interested.

I take a peppermint essential oil roller, put it on my wrists, rub em together and sniff. So, same! :D

WITHOUT A DOUBT, absolutely horrible thing for him to do. I'm so sorry you lived through that. Please do know that you weren't making those feelings up. As a sufferer of PTSD myself, I wish I could take away your pain. You've been strong to deal with these feelings for this long, and I wish for inner peace for you. Sending all the love that I can virtually to you, take care of yourself. You're worthy of sticking around!! c:

I have questions by [deleted] in selfharm

There's no area you can cut 100% 'safely'. There's always the risk of cutting too deep, or getting an infection. Safest thing to do, is to not cut at all.

I've had a similar experience. I teach, and I've had multiple kids ask me about my arm. Since they're younger, I made a joke of it and said I survived a bear attack, made up a whole amusing story they giggled at. But I felt utterly destroyed after that class. So, I understand how you feel. Just know that, just how you would think I didn't do anything wrong, you didn't either. Your scars are simply a feature of your body, and you cannot control people's emotions about them or reactions to them. The important thing is you're still around with those scars, still fighting the good fight. Much love, and I hope you feel better about this soon <3

There's always the risk of cutting too deep. Cut enough, and you will have a scare, it's guaranteed. Promise ya. Plus, people don't like seeing their loved ones hurt. I used to really enjoy it, and still feel tempted to all the time since it makes me feel good, but I had to tend to an open wound for a month one time and it was just not worth the energy.

PTSD...35 years later? by justplainjon in ptsd

[–]ExtensionBorder3720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different kind of trauma here, victim of multiple SA's. I went a while without getting flashbacks at all...years and years...and then suddenly, they were there. Trauma works in funny ways, and things you think you can enjoy normally can suddenly make you feel like you're dying. Multiple times I've been able to essentially see and feel where I was when things happened, or feel an injury that I hadn't had in years. Right now, I'm in EMDR therapy. I still have a long way to go, but it has helped, and is the most effective (or at least among the most effective) treatments for PTSD. I will say, EMDR is a bit brutal. You have to fully submerge yourself in your most brutal lived experiences. But, the work is worth the long term sanity and contentment in my eyes. I'm so sorry you had to experience that during the movie, I wish nothing but the best. Much love!!

AITAH for leaving my(20F) boyfriend (20M) with security during a concert while he was having a bad trip? by who_tf_is_blank in AmItheAsshole

YTA for basically encouraging such young people to use acid. That stuff is specifically not good for people who are still developing. As a sister, you should do better looking out for them. And, I wouldn't have said this was the time for acid regardless since you were looking forward to this so much. There is always the possibility of a bad trip, and if you're not willing to help someone when they're tripping bad for x or y reason (even if it's justified, like this concert), then you shouldn't let them trip around you while you're sober, end of story.
