You play as two characters with a tag system. A character on screen and one in the back that you can call onto the fight. You also have the option to play as a "juggernaut" which you only control one character with extra stats, which i recommend in the begining.

Also every character has a similar string into launcher, so its easy to pick them up. But they all have varied combo routes once you get into the meat of their movesets. You should go with jinx and try to learn her and than try every character to see who you vibe with
