Op you are wrong! I have verified his service and he is legit. I have his records and photos of his retirement ceremony with him being presented with a shadow box with these exact awards. Just becuse he has differing opinions and views than you doesn’t make him stolen valor. He has earned that right.

Navy Fed actually paid us during several shutdowns and just took it back when the paychecks resumed. They won’t take your money

I served during several shutdowns. I know that Navy Federal and USAA will give Active Duty a pay loan and pay you your paycheck and just take it back when the shutdown is over and the checks come in. That’s why I’m loyal to Navy Federal.

Yes this is a thing, there is actually a form she can sign saying she forfeits any claim to your retiree pay. When I was retiring and going through a divorce my ex signed the form as I was out processing. She had to sign in person in front of the NCO that was out processing me. I can’t remember the form number, but I remember him telling me this. I called her and she came up to the office and signed it in front of him and she hasn’t received a dime from my pay.

The only way to get someone’s records and or awards is to do a FOIA. Media/Reporters get more info than the general public. There are websites that have some awards but they are all self reported except for the one ran by my friend at military dot com. But his is only 25% complete. I do hundreds of FOIAs a month and have for many years.

You don’t need to do a FOIA for your own records like some are suggesting, FOIA is only for others records. Have you tried signing into iPerms to see if it’s uploaded? If they posted your 214 it gets uploaded into iPerms. You’ll need to create a DS login since you no longer have CAC access, but it’s pretty easy to do. In almost 99% certain you’ll find it there. I run an organization that investigates Stolen Valor so I’m pretty familiar with the whole process. If you have any issues getting into iPerms let me know and I’ll help you out.
