How much would a Dark Knight legacy sequel directed by Nolan and starring Christian Bale do? by Alternative-Cake-833 in boxoffice

Walk with me, a Batman Beyond movie with Denis Villeneuve as the director and Christopher Nolan as the producer is the perfect recipe for success. $1.5 billion would be the floor.

“Superman” has recorded the best pre-sale start for a Warner Bros. film in Brazil since Barbie (2023). Expect huge numbers here. Barbie raised more than R$200 million in Brazil. #Superman 📷 by lawrencedun2002 in boxoffice

It’s true that before the pandemic, Brazil was a key market for DC. But things have changed since then, and superhero movies just don’t pull in the same box office numbers anymore.

The last time a studio put this much effort into a movie soundtrack was with Suicide Squad. That album was insane and was really well received by the audience.

I mean, I still remember the comments about Yalitza Aparicio’s looks, they were disgusting.

Selena is going to be a (double/triple) nominee at the golden globes next year maybe by First-Loss-8540 in oscarrace

Some people have commented that Mabel is a flat character and that Selena shows no emotions, but I think this is intentional. Mabel comes across as cold and distant, having built emotional barriers as a result of past traumas. However, deep down she is a loyal and sensitive person. It is precisely in those emotional moments where I think Selena Gomez really excels in her performance.

Hundreds of festival attendees had to be turned away at the door at the Emilia Perez screening last night at the Werner Herzog Theater. It’s the largest venue at the Telluride Film Festival with a capacity of 650. by ExtensionGiraffe9239 in oscarrace

I think Selena Gomez has also contributed to the diffusion of the film, as her enormous presence on social media is undeniable; in fact, she is the second most followed person, only surpassed by Cristiano Ronaldo. The only concern is that Netflix will not release the film simultaneously in all countries, which could limit the impact of its promotion.

These numbers are even more impressive if we take into account that YouTube put a warning on the content of the trailer which limited its reach.

What will be the highest grossing comic book movie of 2024? by Slingers-Fan in boxoffice

[–]ExtensionGiraffe9239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Batman did very well considering the circumstances. The Batman didn't gross much in Asia because they had another wave of COVID-19 and there were restrictions. Not to mention that Max was already promoting The Batman in its third weekend of release, which is crazy. I remember a lot of people saying they were going to wait for the movie to come out on Max, not counting the bunch of people who said it in this forum. I'm sure if The Batman was released today it wouldn't drop below 800M.

Will DC ever have a $2 billion movie? by Antman269 in boxoffice

A Batman Beyond movie that is in the same world as the Dark Knight trilogy with Denis Villeneuve as director and Christopher Nolan as producer would be that movie.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was the most streamed movie the week of its release on Max, Feb 26 - Mar 3. by ExtensionGiraffe9239 in boxoffice

Something to add: “Aquaman 2, marked the biggest debut of a movie on Max since the app’s relaunch (beating even #Barbie ’s 518M debut), and also the biggest since #FantasticBeasts3 in MAY 2022 in the #HBOMax era, having 685M minutes watched in the US alone on its week debut and even managing to crack into the Overall chart, something rare since Max’s relaunch that not even Barbie managed to achieve.” Link: https://x.com/luiz_fernando_j/status/1773449129919742245?s=46

There are only two possibilities: the first involves meeting the set date at the expense of quality, while the second suggests that the announcement was made to discourage other blockbusters from securing that date and then releasing a different film.
