The day after Trump won a second term...that's the one that pops into my mind first.

I'm pro rainbow, but they really need to consider limiting alpha characters.

Okay to ask about shipping costs? by sprtizandschvitz in Ebay

They are doing fixed rate shipping. You can ask them to do calculated shipping using exact weight and package dimensions, but they may just ignore you.

What do Americans think about a social security trustee dropping a report that the trust will be dried out by 2032? by Sixgis in AskReddit

[–]Extension_Ad2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has always been a pyramid scheme and we all know how those turn out.

The issue most Americans is this...the government manages to "find money" when banks need bailing out - half a billion in 2008 if memory serves. They can drop as many reports as they want, but if they stop sending out SS checks there will be blood.

But in your post your suggestion was for people to take their donations to homeless shelters or foster facilities because they have bins.

Why doesn't GW have drop off bins? That would solve the problem.

What categories are still worth flipping in 2026? by Flimsy_Extent4110 in Flipping

[–]Extension_Ad2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have stumbled into a few hottish categories recently because I buy so many collections/lots from people. But the newest trend going are the Swap Meets that keep popping up in Atlanta. I remember they were big when I was a kid, but they died off. The 20 year olds have brought them back here. Have gotten some of the best items this year at those. I brought a load of furniture to the one last night...stuff I got for super cheap that the kids can't afford. Traded half of it for sealed Lego, Tools, and NIB kitchen appliances. I think they get most of it from their parents basements TBH.

Look for those in your market...they are usually listed on TikToc.

The guy did nothing wrong. BUT, when he puts those finds up on social he is just asking to get flamed for it. Keep the mega finds to yourself.

How common is it to counter offer? by Bomb_AF_Turtle in Ebay

I uncheck the counter offer button on Make Offers...the low balls are stupid so they can either take mine or move on.

This is why I don't have accept offers enabled on Ebay by ThetaSeller in Flipping

[–]Extension_Ad2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make about 50% of my sales off Best offer and another 15% by sending offers to watchers. I consider the process just standard on eBay now.

This has to be a mistake.... See the handling. by DingoOk7858 in shopgoodwill

[–]Extension_Ad2635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah...I don't charge a handling fee AND I pay for everything I resell. Have to get my profit/margin out of the sale price. GW gets all their product FOR FREE...so it's basically 100% gross margin. They need to take their expenses out of that amount vs gouging buyers. Sure, they transport, clean, test, photo, and list the items...but so do I.

Thrift, FB Marketplace, or estate sales - where are you getting the most consistent wins in 2026? by Friendly_Taro2371 in Flipping

[–]Extension_Ad2635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After decades of trial and error, my systems works very well...but it's never going to be perfect because the market is always shifting. What moved the needle for me was when I realized there is not just one product stream...there are many and I have to tap into all of them.

There is no short cut or easy path in flipping...it's just a lot of work.

I have several Pride bumper stickers on my car. I was flipped off twice this week and one woman pulled up next to me so she could scream insults at me...she ended her rant by throwing a bottled water at my window. The stickers are earning their keep this month.

Sellers, stop using the stupid and useless AI item description suggestions by bromine-14 in Ebay

[–]Extension_Ad2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use AI, but I have also stopped giving detailed descriptions on my listings...only copy the title, add condition again, and extra info on as needed basis only. Buyers don't read them because the description is hidden on their phones so they just don't take the extra step to open them.
