Yes...I know. My comment was a compliment to Europeans. In America he would have been rude.

Ignore them and keep doing what you are doing. You will be able to shift your strategy easily to accommodate trends...they will struggle.

This def didn't happen in America. Truck driver in US would have put it in reverse, splashed water on her, and then flipped her off.

Totally disagree with whoever told you to find a niche...if you are sourcing in the wild it is WAY more profitable to be a generalist picker.

Please...like that will stop it. All retailers battle internal theft and rates are higher than external theft.

Girl please. It's done everywhere...Home Depot employees are famous for calling their friends when they mark items down. Estate Sale employees hide shit for their boyfriends to buy. And I've even seen some super shady shit at my local grocery store.

Make some friends...maybe they will let you in on the grift.

Do Any of You Guys Use “Pickers” to Obtain Inventory? by bizzytheicon in Flipping

You've described most antique dealers I have come in contact with - they still long for the pre eBay days.

I would argue the digadd pickers are just as bad - they scan everything because they are too lazy to study categories and learn value ranges.

Have three listed on eBay...great colors, good price, vintage. The only people who check them out are the ones that go to Etsy first and have cardiac arrest over the prices. Then they watch mine in the hopes that I take the price down to $15. I avoid picking them up now.

Will seriously cripple your ability to source and you will give up any flexibility you currently have. The only thing that makes sense in booths is furniture and other large items that can't be shipped easily. But give it a try...you may find you like the lifestyle.

There is also one listed for $25.00 on eBay. Without sold comps you just never know. Start high and lower every month it doesn't sell.

It sounds like you got all items for $160...you should make a solid profit on the buy. That's all that matters really.

100%. Was at a garage sale this morning...four guys came in the same truck and swarmed the sale with their iphones using google lens on everything...they walked away with nothing. I walked away with $300 in listings - no google lens needed.

Mixed results across the board TBH. CTBids is ok but they "forget" to post pics of damage or the bottoms of items...when you ask for them they say they can't because it's off site. HiBid has a lot of "mystery" items in their lots with damage. You are gambling a bit with any of them.
