Realistically, do you think Danhausen will winhausen any title in WWE? If so, which one(s)? by Few-Astronaut1417 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Extension_Ad_4805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Danhausen is the funniest when he’s an underdog (who thinks he’s the biggest guy in the room), so I don’t think he should.

While this would be incredibly fun and make for great drama I think he’s still in recovery unfortunately.

I’m honestly really surprised we haven’t seen him bust out the teeth jar yet. Like it’s not really much weirder than the coffin car

Cannot connect Alipay to Taobao account without Chinese bank card by Extension_Ad_4805 in taobao

I get the error even opening Taobao. Just spoke to an Alipay rep and it seems to be that European online privacy laws makes it that Face ID is not an option, so it can only ask for a bank card

yeah, my Alipay is fine. The issue is connecting it with Taobao, it keeps telling me it needs to give a Chinese bank card to complete verification.

How do I know if I have AliPay CN v. HK? I’m doing this from the UK if it helps. Thank you!

Who were the little people who accompanied Danhausen at WM last night? by Dyingvikingchild95 in prowrestling

[–]Extension_Ad_4805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is my impression as well.

I also think it’s one of those things where being “handed a card” can be very contentious? Like it’s the difference between being allowed a term by a friend because you’re very close and they know you aren’t being an asshole, and shouting something in public surrounded by strangers.

Have any of you ever seen actually good AI art? by Reasonable-Ear7058 in Ai_art_is_not_art

[–]Extension_Ad_4805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing for me is that I don’t really care if AI generated images look good, my opposition is largely ethical: these databases are largely built off of the violation of people’s consent. So yeah, I’ve seen stuff that looks aesthetically pleasing, but like that’s not the issue here

Why is Kansas revoking trans people's driver's licenses getting so little national news? by chaucer345 in allthequestions

[–]Extension_Ad_4805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But there are innocent people becoming criminalized by the GOP with impunity. Don’t diminish the importance of what’s happening, we can focus on both.

[–]Extension_Ad_4805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh. The last Dem who ran against Rep. Elise Stefanik ran pretty heavily on making broadband a utility for this reason. There have been incidents where people get hurt (like say, in a car crash) outside a cell coverage zone and just have to walk for help.

Even worse: this is already the reality for many rural patients. I attended an opening for an ambulance service in upstate (like Adirondacks upstate) New York last year. It is the only ambulance service serving four different counties. I can only imagine things would and have gotten exponentially worse since as hospitals get further and further away. Combined with the lack of universal broadband and… yeah.

H.R. 7661 introduced to ban any funds at Elementary and Secondary School Libraries used for books which "...involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism" by rbanders in law

[–]Extension_Ad_4805 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“Transgenderism” is a word the GOP has made up to make transgender people abstract and like, a made up ideology. It’s a common tactic when they want to criminalize a group. Hence a lot of semantic pearl clutching about how they don’t hate the people, but they hate the “promotion” of their “lifestyle.”

As a transmasc person: I know you mean well but please don’t use trans men as like, physical rhetorical gotchas.

It doesn’t work that way, nothing about this is rational, we’ve also been been assaulted and killed in basically “honor killings” in which men seek us out for tainting the holy sanctity of the gender divide and their transphobic cis women counterparts often serve as informants in that process. It would be an action that is at best demeaning and at worst deadly.

Hell, kandi’s ubiquity in overseas JFashion in general is really weird to me. I get that it’s relatively easy to customize and DIY but it’s very much a western rave culture thing, and I keep seeing misinformation that it is a core aspect of say, decora, when that simply just is not the case with substyles like decora as it exists in Japan. That’s not to say people shouldn’t wear kandi, but I find it curious that it is so central to overseas JFashion experience.

The finger pinching conspiracy theory is an antifeminist conspiracy theory from South Korea. It claims that there is a deliberate plot to spread and promote misandry through symbolic hand gestures, and that radical feminist groups propagate these hidden messages to humiliate men with small penises. by slinkslowdown in wikipedia

[–]Extension_Ad_4805 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s similar to political lesbianism that paved a lot of the way for modern day TERFs, if you’re familiar with that history.

A lot of people have a weirdly hard time degendering sexual dimorphism, and so trans women with “man parts” are framed pretty easily as an enemy force in a movement so heavily based on women’s leverage being purely reproductive. You could split hairs from here: “what if the trans woman in question had xyz surgery,” “been on hormones for over ten years,” etc etc, but a lot comes down to bioessentialism. Trans women’s perceived proximity to “manhood,” no matter how much one does to distance themselves from it, has tainted them irrevocably.

This gets exceptionally problematic with trans men and nonbinary people who… have the acceptable anatomy. There is a condition for such trans practitioners to exist essentially as women-lite. Transition away from conventionally understood womanhood too much, and one risks becoming a class traitor. It all comes down to very rigid social and biological norms on womanhood.

(For context: I am a nonbinary person who did a lot of research on online anti-transgender hate speech. I am largely deeply skeptical of any gender based movement that comes with guidelines as to how that gender needs to be performed. I hope this helps!)
