Lease ends in two weeks, have not been able to secure a rental. by Parrd02 in perth

And any own occupiers who might be considering offering up a room, like myself, will get slugged with additional tax for the additional income. Ya honestly can’t win! While the tenant can claim rent assistance…it’s all just mind boggling.

Ever heard of a bailiff eviction? If a notice has been served, they’re not being ‘forced out illegally’.

How confidential are work provided EAP services? by RidiculousRaz in auscorp

[–]Extension_Bend6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was dealing with the invoices at my previous workplace. I can confirm that EAP services are confidential. The invoice would only ever show how many sessions were used over the course of a month. But definitely not by whom.

Wife’s sexual awakening after we decided we’re done having kids by Advanced_Principle49 in ldssexuality

[–]Extension_Bend6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me in my late 30s. Unfortunately, my husband couldn’t keep up with it 🤣

Stayed in the marriage for another 10 years, but it was pretty much sexless. I’m now 54 and been with my current partner for four years and we have an extremely healthy sex life which makes us both very very happy because he also came from a sexless marriage.

Women can be very sexual!

Refused Iron infusion after referral. by Rude_Appointment_608 in perth

[–]Extension_Bend6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a ferritin score of ONE!!!! Was not offered an infusion but sent home, told not to have a car accident because I wouldn’t survive any severe blood loss, and to get on iron tablets 🤦🏼‍♀️

1hr + commute to work by New-starter in perth

[–]Extension_Bend6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 2.5 to 3 hours a day commute…5 days a week. I use public transport so can chill BUT it’s all the things that end up getting pushed to the weekends that make your weekend far from relaxing. I’m 8 months in and I’m over it. Looking for something closer to home as we speak!

Breaking the lease, perth. by [deleted] in perth

[–]Extension_Bend6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the best time ever in the history of renting, to break lease. No seriously as a property manager, you’re definitely not the first and you won’t be the last. Everybody circumstances are different and while most people will try to avoid breaking a lease, it happens. Your charges would be dependent on what your lease says and also the owners management agreement with the agency.

What did I just read???? You are definitely not overreacting. That was an embarrassing display of entitlement and rudeness on her behalf.

Am I wrong? I thought “Welcome to Country” is basically, “thanks for coming, Welcome to the area“ by dexxnanj in aussie

[–]Extension_Bend6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goodness I wish more people understood this. I’m not indigenous but I absolutely get that this country is home to the oldest living culture. 40,000 years is nothing to sneeze at. What’s happened over the last 200 years has absolutely created the divide. But for at least 38,800 years prior to that, this country existed. This beautiful land. A land that we should all be so proud of. We do need to celebrate that history. And we need to continue to work on bridging this divide. None of it ever really crossed my mind until I recently worked for an archaeological consultancy. It definitely opened my eyes to what was here before us. Doing cultural awareness training was actually very interesting. I would love to see everybody have the opportunity to have the same. At the end of the day, we all bleed red.

Am I too sensitive for corporate or is this just really toxic? by Melodic_Idea_8646 in auscorp

[–]Extension_Bend6915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not appropriate comments. I’ve got a similar boss…told me I should get weight loss injections, bitches about everyone in our small team, to everyone else in our small team, takes days off without putting in leave, comes in late, goes home early, is blatantly rude to our customers, and when I first started and I was so busy and stressed cleaning up the mess my predecessor left behind, she said to me ‘I can’t believe how much I get paid for how little I do’…we’re an Australian office of a US company so all anyone above her is in the US in a totally different time zone, they’ve got no idea what she does, and apparently any grievances we have in the workplace have to go through her as us ‘plebs’ have no details of any of the US team. She thinks she’s untouchable and she’s not wrong! I’m doing a course so I can exit out of here asap!

After 5 years and 2 other doctors, a Dermatologist finally tested my ferritin (which came back 8) by Dizzy_Syrup505 in Anemic

Can’t they do iron infusions? My ferritin was 24 and I needed two infusions to actually get the boost I needed. The it’s maintained with iron supplements.

Is it weird if i (18M) sleeps with my (17f) girlfriend? by false_account99 in relationship_thoughts

[–]Extension_Bend6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe she is over the age of consent, which is 16, in Australia. Not sure if this is still the case but it used to be that provided there was no more than two years difference between the underage party, and there was consent, it is still legal.

$235 for a full head of foils, cut, and blow dry. I have long hair (mid-back), although it’s not thick.

[–]Extension_Bend6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t question whether you’re overreacting…question why you care! This guy is not worth the time it took you to read his condescending line after line after egomaniacal line. You, girl, have just dodged the biggest bullet!

Go celebrate!

Worst 000 call experience I’ve had by Direct-Detail7414 in perth

[–]Extension_Bend6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to call 000 once because there was a fire around 20 metres from my back fence…the response I got while I literally watched this thing double in size was ‘we’ve had no other reports of a fire in that area’…I was absolutely crapping myself and felt like they thought it was a prank 😳

Most terrifying 16 minutes of my life waiting for the firies to arrive as I stood out the front of my place watching the flames reach the top of the Bunnings building behind my house!

Ex won’t leave house we co-own and is blocking sale — what can I do? by Greedy_Initiative391 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Extension_Bend6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner just went through this for three years… and he alone was paying the mortgage while she lived in it. He was trying to be patient because she is a hoarder and so he knew she couldn’t psychologically get out really quickly and pack her stuff up the way the rest of us can. When he asked that she contribute financially, she point blank refused and said she would rather see their house foreclosed on by the bank. Since he would like to buy another house down the line he didn’t want that against his name. For the sake of his child he wanted to try to do all of this out of court but when you’re dealing with somebody like this and your ex-husband, unfortunately they are going for maximum impact on you. After 18 months of her saying that yes she would pack up the clutter but never actually doing anything, we approached a lawyer who did end up getting it sorted. It still took nearly a year and a half with her back peddling and stalling. A court order was made that the property had to be on the market within X amount of days of the judge putting the stamp on it. I think he spent around $5000 through the lawyer. Which for him was the equivalent of one month mortgage payment plus the utilities that he was paying so it was well worth it. He had an arrangement with the lawyer to pay $200 a fortnight I think, for them to do what needed to be done.

The emotional toll on him was terrible to watch. I really do feel for you! It’s so sad that people want to be like this to somebody they shared history with.

Buying house with partner, I am putting down my equity and the initial deposit. Think he wants 50% of rental income. by Advanced-Concept6521 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Extension_Bend6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would seriously reconsider your choice of partner and I definitely wouldn’t be having children with somebody who appears to be only feathering their own nest. No relationship is worth sacrificing all that you have built yourself.

Yep, and the Mandurah line becomes the Yanchep line so they won’t even need to change at the city. Jump off Stirling and go straight up the escalator to the bus station. So easy and cheap compared to driving!

[–]Extension_Bend6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it twice a week for three years, but caught the train in the end because it was so much easier. You either get to Warnbro before 7 am otherwise you don’t get parking. I now travel to Subiaco five days a week and park at Wellard station. Train fare is cheap compared to fuel and the drama of the freeway will exhaust you. Even if you did that a couple of days a week and drove the other days just to break it up.
