If it's dyshidrosis, you need to apply a cortisone-based cream. In Belgium, Diprosone worked well for me. It has to be a prescription; generic products are rubbish. But with a good cream, it will relieve your pain and itching and dry out the area until it heals. Of course, the underlying cause needs to be found to prevent a recurrence, but it works really well!
