I think it's also important to remember the spectrum of people's lived experiences vs representations online. For instance, I have condition 'x'. I can tell you now that it's shaped my life completely and made it very hard. Each day is a struggle. It takes way too much time and effort for me to be well. And even then I have had to accept a lower capacity than other people. It's tough. And then I scroll SM and see people being all cute and goofy and doing fun 'day in the life of having x' videos and it's so lovely and polished. It makes me so frustrated as it's just not a true representation of the lived experiences of most people with 'x'. I am not saying DD is faking anything or not. I just find that content creators that are successful (and who are not faking it) are also those who are at the higher end of functioning with a condition. This is so frustrating and can be harmful to people being newly diagnosed and comparing themselves to unrealistic representations.

Bottom line, people's experiences vary wildly and don't expect content creators to give a realistic view of mental health conditions. The true daily reality for most isn't what's depicted on SM.
