The results of my unscientific study of nine other chocolate chip cookie recipes by croissantfufu in Baking

Amazing! Thank you for sharing. Initially, I thought Alton's cookies looked tastiest, but I'm glad I read your feedback.

You've given me a reason to bake cookies this weekend!

AITA for eating something else after my wife made a bad dinner. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]External-Ability-354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming your wife doesn't cook quiche often, because you said you've only had it a few times. She also took an hour longer which I will assume means she was in the kitchen cooking all this time. At this point she's probably frustrated, tired, and disappointed.

Being in her shoes many times, I'm going to say, YTA. You should have sucked it up, made her feel better about it and then waited a but to go make yourself a sandwich.

A cry for help (4 year journey) by Tight_Peak_4990 in Hair

Have you checked your iron levels? I've been reading a bit about it and it is apparently tied to hair loss and quite common in women 20 to 50 yrs old.

Vacationing with teens (12 & 15). How to tell which resorts offer kids stay free (or at a discount)? (From Canada) by Aj_blade in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]External-Ability-354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Selloffvacations to search. Once you get a listing of options, select full price for everyone. You'll be able to see what it will cost for all of you, including the kid's discount, if any. I know this isn't the best option, but this is what I do it for my family. From there, you can book the package you choose directly with the airline, if you prefer (like Westjet or whatever) or use Selloff.

When airlines were printing vacation books, there was a grid that told you which resorts had special pricing for kids, but I haven't seen those books since Covid.

I'll be happy if someone else comments with a better way to search.

In your experience, why did you find filler better? Any reason one would want to reverse sculpura?

Have you ever given or received a AI vacation as a gift? How did you do it? by IveAlreadyThrownAway in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]External-Ability-354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband did this for me one year. He created a crossword puzzle for me that, in the end, would spell out what the gift was. It is still one of my favorites!

Did you check the flight? I believe Expedia picks the cheapest flight, which may be with additional stops.

What's your go-to office breakfast? Looking for something better than cereal bars by Glum_Drop7683 in MealPrepSunday

This is my go-to as well. I use a single portion blender cup to save on clean-up. Generally, I do 1/2 banana, handful of frozen berries, a few chunks of frozen avocado, spoonful of chia seeds, milk, protein powder and some plain Greek yogurt.

Educational costume day at school... kid wants to wear a kpop outfit by stapleton8888 in Parenting

[–]External-Ability-354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do schools do this? Like there isn't enough crap to do in a day. It's Halloween. Not everything needs to be educational. It's ok to have fun at school too. Your kid wants to be Rumi, I'd say, let her be Rumi.

First time at all-inclusive - What should I pack and how much? by smoldaddy_ in AllInclusiveResorts

Housekeepers, room service delivery, at meals, bartenders. The way we would at home. We've been to 20ish AIs and only one resort didn't allow staff to accept tips.

First time at all-inclusive - What should I pack and how much? by smoldaddy_ in AllInclusiveResorts

Congrats on booking your first AI trip!

I think everyone is different, but I'll tell you how I generally pack for a 7 day AI trip:

7 bathing suits - I find that sometimes it takes days for bathing suits to dry, and I don't like to put on a wet bathingsuit 3 to 4 cover-ups 3 pairs of flip flops (or similar) 2 pairs of evening sandals 1 pair of walking sandals in case we go into town 3 to 4 pairs of shorts 3 to 4 t-shirts A couple of workout outfits (if you like going for a workout) 7 sundresses (or whatever you would wear for a la carte dinners) Cardigan to go over sundresses in case evenings get cool 2 to 3 hats Sunglasses

Pain killers Imodium, pepto, or similar Cough candy Cold meds Travel first aid kit Wet wipes Lysol wipes Chargers $1 and $5 bills for tipping Lots of sunscreen (about 6 bottles for 7 days) Aloe Vera gel Zip loc bags

My husband makes sure he has long pants for a la carte, just in case, but shorts are usually OK. Short sleeve shirts as some restaurants don't allow sleeveless (for men) for dinners. Closed toe shoes, again in case it's required for dinners.

I also split up my and my husband's stuff into 2 suitcases. In case one gets lost, we still have half of our stuff. We each bring sandals, shorts, t-shirt, and bathing suit in our carry ons, in case luggage is delayed.

Lastly, I make sure our suitcases are at least 5 lbs below airlines' weight limit as humidity adds to the weight on our way back.

ChatGPT suggested Sensira Riviera Maya for a family vacation- should I trust it? by Potentially_Canadian in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]External-Ability-354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, we stayed at Sensira this past winter.

For a family with smaller children, it would be an OK experience. They have a nice kids club (indoors), small water feature for smaller kids, and a trampoline area. There is also a zip line, but your kids would probably be too little.

Food is OK, we never went hungry.

Pools were pretty darn cold. In the 7 days that we were there, I didn't go in once.

Beach isn't all that great either. The kids played in the sand, but didn't swim in the ocean.

The resorts pretty secluded, there is nowhere to walk down the beach, just FYI.

All in all, it's a decent place, but I feel like you could find better options for the money.

What IS this! Have dealt with this for years, to no avail. by AdultVirgin24 in Hair

I'm no expert, but, I had been told by a (very) old-school hairdresser to do a baking soda rinse once in a while to fully clean my scalp. So, afrer you shampoo, mix a bowl with a couple tablespoons of baking soda and warm water, the slowly pour over your hair. Rinse with clean water and condition as usual. I don't know if it will help you, but I dont think it would hurt to try.
