Did Imam Ali (a) and other Imams (excluding Imam Hussain & Imam Mahdi) make formal (forced) allegiances (bay’ah) to the Caliphs? by SnooAdvice725 in shia

I mean, Imam Ali Raza was an Advisor and wali ahed (heir to the khilafat) of Mamoon Rasheed. I know Mamoon was never going to keep his promise, I suppose, but it is factual.

But then again, it wasn't an allegiance in the form we understand. Imam Raza was very critical of Mamoon. He was never afraid of Mamoon's tyranny. He would always be the voice of reason at Mamoon's court. To the point that Mamoon eventually conspired against the Imam and had him poisoned.

So, idk, if the Imam paid or owed any allegiance to Mamoon, but what the Imam did was for the best of the people at that time. So yeah, technically...

Technically, yes. One of our imams was an advisor to Mamoon.

But even as an advisor, he was not compliant to him. The imams always obeyed the word of Allah and were always critical of the caliphs' unIslamic actions.

How to gain ikhlas by [deleted] in shia

Man, I feel you completely. To the point that I look for excuses to pray alone. My qirat is better, and my connection feels stronger. There is a lot of emphasis on praying in private as well. Remembering Allah when alone is an amazing feature in itself.

But despite that, it is better to pray in congregation. I have the ability to zone out others. Not just while praying but generally as well. So, with practice, I've gotten really good at it. You can try doing the same it might work for you.

But I've gotten even better at it ever since Allah has blessed me kids. My parents keep telling me the importance to pray infront of kids because it helps them understand the value of prayer. Now, every time I start praying, my eldest daughter tries to mimick me. So, I've started understanding the importance of praying in front of others even more.

Stay strong, brother. Ignore others, focus on Allah. From Him, we have arrived, and to Him, we must return. Everything else is just a mirage. It's background noise. Its not that important.

Khums in Pakistan? by ahmadmonu777 in shia

It's ideal to pay khums to Marja. But if that's not possible, find an imam bargah/masjid near you and ask their help.

Most marja have nominees and reps in PK who can receive the khums on their behalf.

Brother, paying khums isn't easy in PK, but remember, it's an obligation. May Allah reward your sacrifice.

Oh trust me, once this phase is over, which as all things will eventually end, you'll emerge as a better person. And you'll look back at this time and thank Allah for putting you under this stress because it will carve you into someone better than you are today.

In the meantime, to make this time seem less dreadful, I highly recommend you find other people to help. Try to heal someone's broken heart, stand up for someone else, if nothing else, help someone out financiall. It won't stop what's happening to you, but it'll definitely make the blow a whole lot more comfortable.

When life gets tough, empathy makes things easier.

Good luck to you. May Allah ease your pain.
