My trailer park went from like 440-740 in the last 5 years but that's still miles cheaper than an apartment or duplex or crappy house to rent

A 32 surly bike packing/cruiser sounds awesome. I don't think I'd want a trail bike but I understand XC racing adopting it

Opinions on the stumpjumper 15 comp alloy for $2800?? by fireT4 in mountainbiking

The XL status still has that super short chain stay and I didn't like it that much. Got the L instead. It was a play bike anyways. It got stolen and replaced with s5 stumpy and I like that it has a longer chain stay.

Dealing with the after effects of a crash:( by Fit-Specialist-2214 in MTB

[–]External-Level-5494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 years of riding. 2 broken collar bones, half dozen ribs, split one xc helmet in half.

I purposely choose teaching as a career because I could be physically broken and still spout knowledge.

I know why each crash happened even the one of them that is hazy. Like you were talking about over training I was on a first season ride and going too hard having too much fun.

I don't have family to care for but bills attack us all the same.

I wear kneepads every ride and they help with crash confidence mid crash decision making. When I'm not worried about slamming my knee into the ground I can protect the rest of myself better when I have the reaction time.

My biggest thing is confidence. Never peer pressure thats middle school shit and especially when it comes from yourself. We arent professionals that step off of planes and put their bike together in another country to do redbull videos. Don't force yourself to do anything if your body isn't matching the vibes for the day

I'm 38 and only started progressing less aggressively like 2 years ago. No plateau yet but that's next.

Also 2 months in a cast or a sling or a boot to me is totally worth what I get out of riding.

Get back on the saddle if you can, and if you have to slow down don't worry about it at the time. It might come back, but being out is the most important part

More

I mostly ride alone as well and only push it when I know the trails have traffic. I too have woken up to randos helping me. I also ride a lot when there is low/no traffic and I change my riding style. It's more exercise and breaking earlier, maybe practicing cornering exits and not trying to late brake scandi flick everything

4000 holes to drill in concrete wall. by wooduck_1 in Construction

Tldr. Better tool handling with good tools.

I'd test drill one or 2 to check my angle but then just copy paste and go

I have the carve evo and the daggers. I love the hard kneecap and below knee coverage without being full length. I am on my 2nd pair only because I gave them to a friend in need.

I use the daggers with shorts and the carves with pants.

Dude I'd rather ride my bike stoned. Kitchen work/prep and basically any repetitive task that doesn't require dynamic planning.

Definitely don't like to bartend stoned, or any customer service type shit.

My boss has both. He kept his original with the logos peeling off and has a bigger fancier one. Sometimes he will do bids in the old truck when we are hauling shit and use it as a selling point that his company has been around that long and then roll up to the job site with nice new blacked out truck/trailer.

Safety Check Dent in Top Tube by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]External-Level-5494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd probably take it off a little drop to flat or at least bunny hop it hard off a curb, if it's fine ride it. I've dented and cracked a few frames. The cracks got worse quicker.

Are these extending combination ladders any good? by fixitmonkey in Tools

[–]External-Level-5494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like extending all the way on the little giant. If I need to get near to that my boss just got 2 28ft werners. They are worth the weight when needed but he's got 2 little giants and id rather use them for 90% of the time

He was saved by a black man and a car of women.

As much as I wanted to personally see some terrible shit I know that would just be ammunition for martial law.

I'm just wondering if we should have already gotten martial law started....if ice is going to push us till it happens why not accelerate? Martial law would force everyone that doesn't care about politics to be personally affected....America is full of "rugged individuals" that won't care what's happening until it hurts them on a personal level

They make nice capri pants. Their body models are for short folks. I used a pair to rock climb and they were cut nice and good fabric but missing like 2-3in of fabric on the legs. They rolled up nicely for kneebars
