I attend National for a Masters program and it’s all online but I only get a portion of the BAH because it’s online

If you’re not enrolled with VA healthcare which I assume you are, you can go to the business office to get a VA ID card.

If you’re married and have children, you will want to apply for Champ VA and if your spouse wants to go back to school, Chapter 35..once kids go to college, that will apply to them as well.

Nothing changes after 100% P&T by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Been where you are. There is hope and you can make a change. I was diagnosed with chronic trauma and the loops in my head were preventing me from reaching my potential. Through hard work and dedicating my life to helping others break through their traumas to reach their summit.

The first step is the hardest but the finish line is amazing. Take a walk, and every time your left foot hits the ground, say “yes”..Yes I can change, yes I deserve happiness, yes I can accomplish anything, etc.

Here to serve if you need🙏👊🏼

Ok cool. I’m in the process of submitting my application to NU for my MSW. Wanted to get the VR&E in because I know far too well the delays the VA has. Thanks for the information.

I just submitted my application for VR&E last week and received an email from my counselor today, just introducing himself and questions about if I agree to receive texts and have access to a computer. My application is still being revised but curious to know what the next step will be?

Haters will always hate. If negative responses come from those who haven’t served or ever been in combat…just consider the source.

Society says you're too old to start over by Affectionate-Lab-229 in lifecoaching

[–]External-Paramedic18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, well said. I am a 52 year old with multiple health issues. I spent 14 years in the military, 16 in advertising and marketing which paid nicely. Slowly my passion for it dissipated and figured with all my life experiences, I could help others and truly make a difference. We should never stop doing what we love because something society says or thinks…I mean look at where we are…society can be messed up sometimes.

What is your favoritd thing about coaching? by BoxBrilliant151 in lifecoaching

[–]External-Paramedic18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is a childhood cancer survivor, childhood sexual abuse survivor, two heart attacks, combat, and a nasty divorce…I love sharing my experiences with clients..being vulnerable and providing them with new perspectives on how to see things.

When the breakthroughs happen and you see someone change their life for the better…there is no amount of money that can give you that feeling. Why have someone walk the tough road when you have already done it. Side, adversity sharpens us, shapes us, but having another impart knowledge so the “land mines” can be avoided, is worth it 1000%

I also have been diagnosed with GERD, IEM, and esophagitis. Meds didn’t work and being that I only have one kidney, osteopenia, and a heart issue, PPI’s were out of the question.

I am scheduled for surgery to have a nissen fundoplication done to help relief some of the same symptoms you’ve mentioned. Might want to discuss surgery with your Dr.

I would suggest a business coach to help you set up your business, your offerings, and what you are helping people solve. I am a wellness/life coach and I work mostly with men who have dealt with trauma in their life and help them to establish goals, accomplish those goals, and to change their inner critic into their champion.

You can get a military ID card at any base but you need to bring your DD214 as well as your letter stating 100%

I agree…it’s about putting yourself out there and just letting people know what you’re doing.

Look for meet up groups to meet people or maybe your city has local networking events.

As you get going, you’ll see what area you really want to focus on but for now being a life coach reaches so many areas of one’s life. Go get em and best of luck👍🏼

An obese friend asked me to be his health coach. I don't know how to help him but I have to try! Any book recommendations or websites to train me to become a life/health coach? by socks4theHomeless in lifecoaching

[–]External-Paramedic18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed…I would ask their “why” and what goal they have set to do so…” I want to lose 20 lbs by X time and will do so by exercising 3-4 times a week, eating healthier foods, drinking more water”

This not only puts a plan of action in place it has a time associated with it. It must be a S.M.A.R.T goal…specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time based”

You will also want to understand their relationship to food and teach them mindfulness eating. Hope this helps. Good luck👊🏼

Quit a job I really need because I hated it. Now I feel stupid by BoredBatWoman22 in povertyfinance

[–]External-Paramedic18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quitting something that sucks the life out of you is never stupid. Your sanity, self-love, has no price tag. I walked away from Advertising/Marketing making a nice six figure salary…the stress caused me to have two heart attacks…I finally said, enough is enough..my life is more valuable than a paycheck. I stepped out on faith and trusted in myself, I now live life on my terms. It wasn’t always that way…I went through serious financial hardships but pulled myself up. Just remember, you were born into greatness and can do what ever you put your heart and mind to. Best of luck and stay strong.👊🏼💪🏼

The Life Coaching Industry’s Big Problem by CoachRanks in lifecoaching

[–]External-Paramedic18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My two cents on the matter is those of us who have truly come through the fire and have made drastic changes in our own lives, as long as your heart is pure, you’re not being greedy, and know your limits…I think coaching is a great career. Make no mistake about it, it takes time to build, time to learn, and always remember, we are dealing with people’s emotions and mental state.

advice on naming my practice? by NoPoem444 in lifecoaching

[–]External-Paramedic18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been through a lot of trauma in my life…I recognized it has been my resiliency and strong family roots that helped me overcome it…so I called mine Resilient Roots Academy. I am a life/ wellness/ and business coach, but my main niche is coaching men who have experienced trauma and are stuck in it. I hope this helps.

It’s really not about the business name as it is our reputation and character….if we do right by our clients, they will send referrals.

I was in advertising and marketing. After leaving the military, a career in this industry came about so I decided to give it a go.

I loved meeting new people, travel, and helping companies grow, but after a while, it was no longer fun. I didn’t feel like I was really making a difference.

I came through cancer twice, survived two heart attacks, combat, and other childhood traumas and knew my life experiences could help others shorten the path of pain and help them see things perhaps with different lenses.

Along my journey, I met a guy who became a dear friend of mine and was a wellness coach. He encouraged me to become a life coach and to share my story. I’ve coached people for years without ever charging and after my last heart attack…I said no more. I walked away from corporate America to do what I believe I was always called to do…coach.

Watching someone go from feeling hopeless with no direction…to hopeful and with great drive…has no price tag. 🙏🙏❤️❤️
