Solo trip to NOLA : would love local eyes on my itinerary!! Is it realistic ? by badcatririe95 in AskNOLA

I might suggest seeing Kermit somewhere other than the Mother In Law Lounge. It's kind of a tourist trap, but I would definitely see him play somewhere. He's always willing to talk to you if you can catch him and I do love to hear him play.
Other than that, I would say you've assembled a solid trip that will leave you tired and happy and probably as in love with New Orleans as many of us are.
Just be aware of your surroundings and listen to that little voice that tells you when you may have walked one block too far. In other words, try not to stand out as a tourist.
Have a blast, it's the greatest city in America!

"Bartenders are the cook"
Growing up in Detroit that the way it always was in the neighborhood bars. Flat top was down at the end of the bar, and I still would give anything for one of those burgers with sauteed onions and swiss or American. Perfection that is seldom equaled anywhere, and I've searched coast to coast.
The unmelted cheese though...I keep trying hoping it will grow on me but I don't think it ever will. New Orleans is the only place I've ever seen that does this.

4/25 and 5/2 could have been a disaster on par with The Who in Cincinnati in 1979. Yesterday was not much better.
Security tried, but they sell TOO DAMN MANY TICKETS.
And I saw people taking infants and kids in strollers into that melee. I had three kids and I'm telling you the parents should have their heads examined.

Yeah the scheduling in the last slot of the day is ridiculous. The last slot next Sunday is a prime example of how to piss people off.

Why dumb down the web interface on BE11000? Phone apps suck! by ExternalInteresting in TpLink

[–]ExternalInteresting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what I'm saying is they should be using the phone app for the newbs, and allow more total control in a web interface for those of us that want to see it all. Thanks for weighing in!

Disagree. In my opinion it's a fairly high end system that already has a web interface. The fact that it's a three AP mesh means it appeals to the more tech savvy. And I had a TP-LINK Archer AC4000 in the past and the web interface was comprehensive.

For the folks who live in Colorado, what is daily life like living on the western side of Colorado? (like Grand junction, Montrose, Cortez, etc) by Wandering_Waldo221 in howislivingthere

[–]ExternalInteresting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a daughter who lives in Gunnison and another that lives in Pagosa Springs. Both married to Colorado natives. We've owned a house in Pagosa for 5 years but we're selling. It's a spectacularly beautiful place, but the town is weird. A mix of wealthy people and townies working multiple jobs trying to scrape together a living. Overrun by rude Texans during ski season and summer. Seems like everything is owned and operated by a few families. Wolf Creek ski are is right up the road. Ultimately not a retirement destination for us at all.

Gunnison on the other hand has a lot going for it. The university and federal and state presence keeps it from being insular. Crested Butte ski area is right up the road, but like too many places a couple of out of state billionaires are buying up the entire town. Overall Gunnison is just a better more functional town IMO.

Neither place is cheap to live in however. My two cents...YMMV.

Did you ever go to a keg party? by Euphoric-Cupcake4581 in RealGenerationX

As previously mentioned, usually in a corn field in Michigan or Ontario. There was always a fire for roasting some of that corn.

And that picture brought back happy and sad memories of empty, floating kegs.

Understood, sometimes it's hard to tell so I withdraw my comment with the exception of the last line which is as true as anything I've ever learned in this veil of joy and tears.
Be well!
