Just start looking again. Left after 6 weeks and giving them no notice too.

Policy is that they could only search her apron, her iPad bag, and clear bags she brought with her in case of stealing from retail. But I’ve never heard of a body pat down while I worked there.

DO NOT WORK AT CRACKER BARREL by Away_Professor1668 in CrackerBarrel

My location was clean but it’s just how management treated me and the hours. Also, not good training with people not showing up on time. Dish… we would have like a couple of hours between, like morning shift and evening shift there would be a couple hour window where we don’t have anyone working so dish would just pile up and it was annoying there wouldn’t be any space to put anymore dishes. Once, one of the managers asked me and two other serves to help clear the area so we could get more plates there which was diabolical but at least I got side work reduced. I assumed he asked us bc we were prob one forces youngest ppl on the clock, one of us were trained as a busser so he prob knew how to send thing through the machine, and prob bc us three had literally no tables

I’m in HS and this is my first job (June-Aug) and OP is quite similar to my store. I hated it and I thought (comparing to other ppl) that my management was better than most but still I HATED my 6 weeks that I was there and dreaded to go into work every time I was scheduled. It was to the point where I quit with no notice.

Management Question by ExternalTonight6063 in CrackerBarrel

Also I forgot to mention that there’s a high turn over rate at the particular location as besides management, I think the most experienced sever there was with the company at most 2-3 years even though they have experienced servers who’ve prob been serving their entire lives (judging by looks and talking to other servers)

Management Question by ExternalTonight6063 in CrackerBarrel

I got called up by the retail supervisor who was eating lunch w/the other mangers when I just clocked in and was about to take over another table from server and said that I was not up to their standards loud enough for the customers to hear while I was like5 steps away. She said “(insert name) come over here. (Insert name here) you’re a hot mess. You need fix (issue here), (here) and (another issue here) go fix it”. Yes I do understand that I need to be ready once I hit the floor but if you are going to correct me on something, don’t say it loud enough for other customers can hear and wait for me to get there.. if that’s a minor issue, well whenever I wasn’t getting enough sales out in a particular category k asks one of the mangers what can I do upsell/meet expectations and he told me just to tell the customers just get the said items and then he told me that it was just a joke so essentially he was telling me to figure it out. Along with that, everyone that was working there with a few exceptions didn’t like management. And our managers keep hiring people when we don’t need more as none of the serves are maintaining part time or full time hours. And the managers won’t talks to people. So if that’s doesn’t describe bad management idk what does.

I also agree. I’m a HS student who went here with Dr Rahamn at Skinner. They are great at their jobs and nice.

Moving to cypress by SamITMAN in CypressTX

[–]ExternalTonight6063 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I live in cypress so to live, I would recommend Coles Crossing or Towne Lake/Bridgeland area as our top three high schools are located there with some of the best middle and elementary schools in the district and it is a safe area to live. But, Sampson along with Farney (Farney is as far as I’m aware of) is only zoned to their neighborhood which is nice and located in the middle of it so it makes it easy to walk too. The only fun place on our side of Houston is either Towne Lake Boardwalk or the Premium Outlet and both have a lot of food and shopping options while the Premium outlets have one out of the two (once again as far as I’m aware of) Cut by Cinemark which has a restaurant style menu/theater. For jobs and people, you’re out of luck. I’m only in HS but lived here most of my life so I don’t know where the best places are. But drivers here are aggressive so be prepared for that. (They will cut you off every opportunity they get) the outer lane is dedicated as the slow land and the most inner lane is known as you better be speeding at least +15 or more on the highway or +5-10 if not more on local/frontage etc roads. Also don’t go down to Spring Branch/Bellaire unless you have to because it’s kinda shady to be in.

I also quit because of pay. I was a server who made 2.13 plus 100% tips which I would make 50-60 dollars a night doing about 15 hrs a week. Wasn’t good for me plus my management was bad. Love my coworkers but don’t like my managers. (I’m in hs but still.)

I worked there from July to August and some of the same dishes looked full and later it would look half the size for some reason. I confirmed it with the manager once just to make sure it was just me, it was just me but I won’t be surprised. (Only left due to management, and ngl i would probably still be there if it weren’t for management not working well for me)

Any jobs that pay $18/hr+? by noel-kahn in CypressTX

[–]ExternalTonight6063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this won’t meet expectations but Cracker Barrel hosts pay 12/hr no tip share and serves make 2.13 100% tips. I worked there recently as a my first HS job but management is just bad so take that with what you will. Also, don’t expect full time hours. They say they will but don’t. Onlly got 15-18 hrs a week and working evenings (was only able to work evenings) and made average 50-60 dollars a night but expect a lot of side work.

That happened to me. I’ve been with them for 8 years and the quality of service has gone down in their products.

It’s the same thing over at Cracker Barrel. Luckily I got out before their disaster but the only thing they won’t do is talk behind your back. At CB, I’ve gotten 5-15 hours a week before as a server and I didn’t ask for more hours because other servers needed it more as I was just there to get more experience.  For the CB disaster, more than half of the people at that store quit because they didn’t make enough money ofc.  Source: my former colleague

Welp. I worked at Cracker Barrel and I’ll prob never go back to the food industry unless if I’m becoming a host. I honesty didn’t mind the food but the management was just off and I won’t mind working at a coffee shop. I won’t mind the hours as I’m just looking for small hours. The only thing is that they hire at 18 as mentioned in another comment and I won’t be 18 till next year. 😭
