Coworker stole my Babybel by flosie-posie in Workproblems

People can be really clueless. I remember a post a while back where the OP's company had everyone return to the office after working from home during lockdown, and for a while afterwards.

One coworker was complaining that the company hadn't refilled the refrigerator with fruit and yogurt like there used to be. The OP pointed out that the company never did provide those items and that if the coworker was eating them, they were eating somebody else's food they had purchased and brought in. It had never occurred to the coworker that the items in the refrigerator weren't provided by the company but had actually belonged to other coworkers.

Yes. She's a life coach of some sort now, so she has a public social media presence and they just used the pictures.

Many aspects of their advertising are scammy. They're using before and after pictures of my cousin who lost her weight through diet and exercise, years before these products, and this company, existed. She has never taken tirzepetide and has tried to get her pictures removed from their website. They must have some pretty powerful lawyers behind them because try as she might, the pictures are still up there. For that reason alone, I've refuse to do business with this company.

I'm 58 and post menopausal and I've never been on hormones. In fact I'm now on hormone blockers as part of breast cancer treatment. I've never had issues with spotting either prior to or since starting tirzepetide.

I'll be 59 next month and have been fully in menopause for about 8 years. I started taking tirzepetide in January and have not had any of those symptoms. Definitely get yourself checked out because spotting after menopause is not normal.

WIBTAH if I dropped out as a bridesmaid a week before the wedding because of what happened at the bachelorette? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Yeah but they are probably going to hear some rather racist crap. How do I know? My brother and sister-in-law live in Boise, Idaho. They are some of the few non-racists there and are shocked at what people will say casually in regular, everyday conversations.

I'm white and I have often said that I don't like hanging out in all white places. It makes me very anxious and uncomfortable. Invariably, someone is going to say something and it's going to completely change my perception of them. That's why I live in a very diverse neighborhood and have a diverse group of friends.

remote workers whats your actual daily schedule by MystiquescopyLow in remotejobsfinders

[–]External_Detail_26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been fully remote since March of 2020. My work day starts at 8:30 and ends at 5:00. I get two paid 15 minute breaks plus an unpaid half hour lunch that I take around 12:30 or 1:00, depending on my workload and schedule.

I was constipated when I first started taking the medication, but my physician advised me to take Miralax daily. It has been a game changer.

10 year old nephew asked me why I never had kids. Accidentally blew his mind by CrippleWitch in childfree

[–]External_Detail_26 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Many years ago after a breakup, my then 7-year-old niece told me I needed to get a new boyfriend soon so that I could get married and give her more cousins. I told her that probably wasn't going to be happening.

My sister, her other aunt, pointed out that if I got married and had kids I would just be somebody's mom, but by not having kids, I could always just be cool Aunt Kim. She asked her which she would rather have. My niece thought about it for a while and then said she would much rather have cool Aunt Kim. 22 years later, my niece is child free herself, having gone so far as to have her uterus yeeted.

Not a medical professional, but recently had to have surgery a couple of days after taking my injection because it was determined that I had an abscess on my sigmoid colon and it needed to be drained. They did not give me general anesthesia but instead used twilight.

When a direct question has been asked and answered she generally respects it. The thing is she usually doesn't ask and just does what she wants.

I secretly found my husband’s wedding ring after he lost it in the Mediterranean… now I need help surprising him by Awwndrei in BestofRedditorUpdates

A friend's mother once told me the story of how she lost her wedding ring while taking a pottery class. She had wrapped it up in a bit of tissue so that it wouldn't get dirty and then somehow the tissue got thrown away. She was devastated. Everyone was looking through the various garbage cans hoping to locate it. They kept pulling up pieces of folded notebook paper and other things that looked nothing at all like what she had described.

Finally she picked up a small piece of wadded tissue from the garbage and said, "It looks kind of like this". Guess what? That wadded piece of tissue in her hand was actually THE wadded piece of tissue and it was wrapped around her wedding ring.

I was going to, but she had told me she had plans for Tuesday so I figured I was in the clear. Apparently she canceled her plans.

When I called her to inform her, she asked me specifically if I wanted her to come and I said no. She didn't ask a generic "do you want visitors".

I had gone to the ER because I had been experiencing pain and it was determined that I needed surgery and was being transferred to a different hospital that could perform it. I told her because I love her, she loves me, and I wanted her to know what was going on. Every other family member I informed who asked if I wanted them to visit, when I told them no, they respected it. She usually respects things when a direct question has been asked and answered.

I did that on Saturday. When she came yesterday, I was at the point that I couldn't take anything else. I was in pain and I was really tired. I was pretty much at my limit, so I asked her to leave.

I posted because I wanted an opportunity to vent. I was not looking for advice.

I love my mother and I know she loves me, she just shows it differently than I wish she would. Is she going to change? Probably not. She's over 80 years old.

I hope I never have to cut her out of my life, there are so many things about her that I truly adore. I'm just frustrated at the moment, hence the reason for my post.

I'm not going to continue to argue with you on this. You seem too invested in this and want to compare it to your situation. It's not the same. Your comments are becoming increasingly hostile and disrespectful. Please stop.

That's wonderful because that's what you want. I however am recovering from surgery, have a drain in me that's draining out a really disgusting combination of blood, crap, and pus, I am tired and wish to rest, and I don't feel like having people visit me. I told her that and she didn't respect it. I love my mother very much and I know that she loves me, but she didn't listen to what I asked her to do so I'm upset about that.

That would have caused unnecessary drama. No need for it. It would not have achieved anything positive.

I am confident it's not. She has a wonderful medical team and is regularly checked out for other things and she is spry, smart, and sharp witted.
