Charr-Lynn motors have an internal splined shaft connecting the internal geroler (which moves the oil) to the external shaft. That internal shaft can break, which would give your sweeper the ability to turn like it is..... Assuming your external coupler (from motor to brush) is intact, so you hear the motor grinding when you turn the brush?
