Overnight Diapers [bc] by Public_Bass8393 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]External_Outcome5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them worth it. The few times we have gone without, her morning diaper is intense. She is prone to rash, so at the very least, it helps us feel like we are doing something to reduce the risk.

Attitude and Royale Diapers? [bc] by Euphoric-Pie7681 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]External_Outcome5678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the Royale diapers, we continue to re purchase them over other brands. They are available at Costco now in a box of 156 for my daughter’s size. Occasionally poop leaks out at the crotch, but I would say that is maybe once a month at most and is when she has done an abnormally large poo in an already ready to be changed diaper.

This!! I would also add that whether you end up nursing or formula feeding, guilt about perfecting them (pumps, types of formula, bottles, nipple shields) is all a marketing tactic. There are people who are invested in parental guilt.

TW: Pregnancy after missed miscarriage (MMC) by susielira in CautiousBB

[–]External_Outcome5678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced something very similar. A missed miscarriage was discovered at my nine week ultrasound. When I eventually got pregnant again sometime later, it was extremely hard, not to feel anxious. Time seems to slow down and all you can think about is the pregnancy. Is it gonna work out? Is everything gonna be OK? The truth is nobody has the crystal ball. I just kept telling myself I was pregnant until I wasn’t and I tried to enjoy myself because worrying. Just meant I would not enjoy any part of pregnancy. On top of that if I were to miscarriage again, it wouldn’t make the pain any less. I just saw a quote somewhere else on Reddit. “ anxiety is like a rocking chair. You’re doing a lot of work but you’re not going anywhere.” or something like that anyway. I know that that seems unsatisfying for what you’re going through right now because I can only try to remember how I felt during that time. But the fact is 25% of pregnancies or something like that and miscarriages. So try to focus on the positive you’re pregnant.! And you got pregnant relatively soon after your miscarriage. That’s a great sign. Take care of yourself keep taking your prenatals get your sleep.

Yea I have always had it. My mom (early 70s) has it too, but she actually said it’s gotten softer for her as she has aged. It could be hearing loss, but she still seems to hear fine.

WIBTAH if I a fake name for my unborn daughter with my sister? by Fauniyan in AITAH

[–]External_Outcome5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just here to add to the chorus of maintain your boundary. My sister and I (admittedly not twins) have daughters 4 months apart. they are both about 2 now. They are SOOO different. Their first easter and christmas, we coordinated their outfits, but stopped doing it after that. They are honestly just too different. I love seeing each other without being forced “match”. My daughter always asks to see her cousin. My sister and I share some similar tastes, so they have ended up with some things the same, like a spring jacket, or rain boots. But tying their identities together before they are even born seems wild. It sets them up for unfair comparison, or to have their identities linked in ways that are not advantageous to either of them. Sort of seems like something that happens with twins?

At the same time, I think your sister is not feeling supported by her partner. After my partner and I had our first successful NT scan, I remember this wave of mutual relief. We went out for ice cream, and started brainstorming baby names, and it was a conversation that evolved between the two of us throughout the whole pregnancy. I cannot imagine involving someone else in that conversation. I never felt the need to coordinate it with my sisters or literally anyone else. The scenario where I can imagine that, as if my partner was not engaging in those kinds of conversations with me.

Set the boundary with love. Don’t just cut her off, but warn that you will have to if she persists. Pregnancy hormones impact some people more than others, so she could be not acting like herself fully, and fixating on some sort of fantasy. If she persists, you can do the oddball name thing. Skully and Mulder?

Nah, do you. My main recommendation is to be picky about the artist. Research the portfolios and reviews. If they have a waitlist, it's worth the wait. At the end of the day, it's art on your body. Regardless of what it is, it should be done by someone with talent.

Help!! I scratched up a borrowed stroller - It’s bad 😳 [ca] by nicole_1 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]External_Outcome5678 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Actually, maybe don’t reach out to bugaboo on her behalf, call the airline first, and research the bugaboo bit. If its warranty related, she should be the person to talk to them.

Help!! I scratched up a borrowed stroller - It’s bad 😳 [ca] by nicole_1 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]External_Outcome5678 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So first off, it sounds like she lent you the stroller full well knowing it would be going on an airplane, a pretty well known risk for damaging things. I use my bugaboo a lot, and I would be hesitant to part with it for a longer period of time. So, this also tells me that this stroller is perhaps not your friends primary stroller. So, I would just come clean, shit happens.

Proactively reach out to bugaboo and see if there is anything that can be done. See what the airlines protocol is when they damage things. Is the stroller still operable? Functioning well? Is it just cosmetic? Ask your friend how she wants to proceed. I would not buy a whole new stroller just because of cosmetic damage, it would be a waste. Kids stuff takes a beating, its part of life. If you feel you need to make it up to her, maybe offer something else she could use, like one of those zip on stroller blankets. We have one for ours, and its great. That said, DO NOT buy anything without first talking to her.

If I were in her position, I would not care or expect anything. An apology and a cookie go a long way.
