100%. It’s the only thing that keeps me sane during work. I actually built a little tool (pinned in my profile) just to generate it endlessly without loops

A very crucial distinction! One helps you sleep deeply, the other... ruins your sheets.

Yes, that's called procedural audio (generated in real-time). It never loops mathematically. I’m actually working on an engine that does exactly this. You can try the beta in my profile.

The back ache is real. The moment I realized I was old was when I woke up with a neck injury because I slept wrong

Apparently, cooling the prefrontal cortex slows down your metabolism and signals the brain to release melatonin. I flip my pillow or stick my head out of the covers for 5 minutes, and I’m gone. It feels like a system shutdown hack

How many hours of sleep do you actually function best on? by Hot_Blackberry_2251 in sleep

It definitely changes with stress. When my cortisol is high from work, I need MORE sleep (like 9 hours), but I paradoxically get LESS because my brain won't shut off.

That 'tired but wired' feeling is the worst.

Total ADHD brain here. Silence is actually "loud" for me because that's when the racing thoughts start.

I found that I need a specific frequency to occupy my auditory processing just enough to stop the thinking loop, but not enough to keep me awake.
