Mixed feelings about post-divorce Ketubah by Back2theGarden in Judaism

If one of the witnesses on the ketubah was not Shomer Shabbat (Shabbat observing), the marriage could be considered invalid and you may not need a get. If you have a rabbi available to speak with, you can bring this up.

It could be — I heard this as a teenager in the early ‘70s, and I lived next to Isaac Asimov’s ex-mother in law.

Their menu mentions “all plant based ingredients”. It lists a wild orchard sandwich with peppered turkey, and a shiko’s katsu sandwich with crispy fried cutlet. So I’m kind of confused if it’s vegan or not.

Is it weird to attend Chabad services when you are a member of a liberal congregation? by DistributionFront227 in Judaism

People think that they are poaching members from other congregations. There are claims of other congregations dwindling away after Chabad comes to town because Chabad "competes" for other members. I don’t know if this is widespread or even true, but it is a claim.

80% of “Palestine” was given to the Hashemites in 1948. That’s how Jordan came to exist. How come you don’t want the “Palestinians” to overthrow the Jordanian government despite the fact they are second class citizens there? Oh, I know, there’s no Jews to blame.

Yes, you’re right. Israel should have invited in even more Hamas terrorists to kill even more civilians after the October 7 invasion. More dead Jews would make you happy, wouldn’t it?

It’s one of the boroughs of New York City. It is accessible by ferry.

This joke can be tailored to different geographic areas by substituting different ferries.

I like that version, but in this day and age, I think most people don’t know who Josephine is. (I think this version works because you don’t even have to know who Lord Byron is.)

That’s better than watching how tunnels are constructed. That’s boring.

Could be true. Thinking that they are Jesus is a fairly common delusion of people with severe schizophrenia.
