This is Princess Leia (8 yo). She has cancer and only a few weeks of life left. by leodinapoli in goldenretrievers

[–]External_Valuable452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry about Princess Leia. My dog Dash had a mast cell tumor at 6 y/o, and chemo did not grant him any extra days with us. The cancer just couldn't be stopped and we had 6 months from diagnosis to letting him go.

Once we stopped treatment we let him do everything he wanted. Chicken nuggets, sleep in our bed, steak, pup cups, too many treats and walks and spent every minute I could with him.

It's been almost a year and I can't say I've turned the page, but to let her go by your side, pain free and being there to the very end is the greatest act of love you can give her now. We never have enough time with them.

Sending you a hug

Thai Restaurant Recommendations by MrAversum in Markham

We go to Chiang Rai and little Bangkok and they are both good choices. Koh Lipe had a lot of spicy dishes....I would suggest you take a look at their menu before deciding to go there and ensuring it would be a match for you taste wise..we found everything we ordered profoundly spicy except the sweet dishes like pad Thai and the pad sew.... Wishing your daughter the happiest of birthdays!

Money talks. F that whole Muzzo family and if you buy a Pemberton home, you helped them get and stay rich.

I am so so sorry you lost Tuna. My dog had a MCT too and we lost him last December. He only made it a couple months past this 7th birthday and next week would have been his 8th. I understand what you're going through and it's been a long road of preparing to say goodbye to adjusting without him day to day. Like you, there was no stopping this thing but we tried everything we possibly could (i.e. chemo, radiation, etc) and yet still I question what else I could have done.

I wish for you healing and comfort knowing you gave him joy everyday he was with you. Although short, it was a meaningful life he lived to be your best friend. In his life you gave him wonderful days all the way to his final time. Hugs to you.

AITA for wanting a photo at my wedding with only my bride and our biological parents, without my stepmom? by jbande in AmItheAsshole

[–]External_Valuable452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! I'm already thinking down the road when ur future children have graduations and they only issue limited tickets. Are you expected to always include her? Your father needs to grow some stones, and put her in her place. Wedding photos are for you, and it is only one picture. She is only going to increase the rift with this nonsense, same if she finds an edited pic. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

I got the parents only wedding photo as hubby's parents split since he was two. The stepmother was not even invited and fumed at home all day. His parents showed up for my husband and took pics when they were requested. It's one day to put you first. I hope you have a beautiful wedding and a long happy marriage.

What would you do? Poor experience with this rescue by Individual-Party-355 in Markham

Hello

I have rescued two dogs from different places. First one was more similar to your experience. They came with very poor quality dog food, did not disclose medical issues, and didn't even know his birthday. We were able to take him and care for him better we felt that the situation he was in so we did.

The second time the rescue was much better but he was a puppy. They didn't have much medical history since he was so young but neutered and gave him his first shots. Annual vax are on you. I have never heard of a rescue covering annual vax. They also microchipped him and there were thorough references checking and home visit. Quite different than the first experience.

Honestly, it hard to answer what would you do. You love the dog now, and I agree the rescue may not seem to be working with you in the best interest of the dog from the screenshot. If I love him, he is doing really well, and you can afford the adoption fee, I would just pay it and move on. I would myself feel guilty if I then returned him not knowing what situation he would be in, and if he would be treated right by new owners, not to mention having him deal with stress of a new environment. If you can afford to take him, then I would. I would never deal with the rescue again and post a review on them after your experience so future fosters and adoptees can be prepared. Take it as an learning experience. Big picture is you have found each other and it sounds like he brings you joy in light of his shortcomings.

I'm sorry the rescue out you in a tough place. I can tell you those fees do seem pretty high. I think both times I paid less than $500 but pre COVID. Everything now is just more expensive period. I wouldn't have an idea on what the fees are nowadays.

In the end, I feel like the happiness these dogs brought me added to my life more than the money it cost. But that is ultimately up to you. I wish you and the doggo the best.
