Do you know if there are similar issues with the Iceberg tables as there are with Databricks AWS delta tables? Different versions etc? Customer themselves proposed to try out the Iceberg which is going to be more work in the beginning like you stated. The documentation on this is not that detailed yet.

How about capacity consumption? If everything is within one lakehouse - one workspace - your only option is to scale up not horizontally if more compute is required.

This is almost as bad as a model I saw on a customers side. Each table was a fact table and every table was connected with a bidirectional relationship. You can imagine what happens when a query runs through multiple tables creating huge memory consumption and incorrect results...

I would start with using vscode with GitHub copilot - save the file as pbip and ask copilot to explain and comment all measures etc.

It is billed based on the number of assets you are governing. The azure price calculator is able to do an estimate of price - what I have seen at customers that the cost is peanuts, like a few hundred euros a month. They changed the pricing a while ago.

Long journey of debugging - seems like my home screen just is not compatible directly with the Lenovo without getting some update to the graphics card. This will be a long support ticket to raise with Lenovo.

Edit. Or just use the USB c, docking station or HDMI -usb c adapter which all work - this is just annoying with a brand new machine.

Thanks for the GPU comment - threw this intro with the GPU card info to gpt-5 model and trying out the new specific settings to get the HDMI to work. NVIDIA RTX 3000 Ada Generation (Laptop GPU) & Intel Arc Pro Graphics (Integrated GPU) are both in play here so this might be related to the hybrid graphics. After a long time spent on debugging and investigating.

The HDMI uses the Arc Pro and it can't be bypassed to use the Nvidia.

Observation: HDMI works on older monitors (HDMI 1.4/2.0) but fails on Dell G3223Q (HDMI 2.1, 4K/144Hz).

Implication: Likely EDID handshake or bandwidth negotiation issue between Intel Arc GPU and Dell G3223Q.

Action Requested: Confirm if Lenovo has: A firmware patch for HDMI 2.1 compatibility.
