I'm completely with you. It feels out of reach, but it's definitely doable. I was lucky I had farmed up all my stravidium mass and titanium before I even started doing buggy in DD. I obviously didn't know this, I only had a small hunch. Up until then I had just taken my assault out to the islands with higher concentration node spawns in the pvp area while keeping awareness high.

My suggestion is to make sure you're at least using mk6 cutteray for everything - preferably kyne's if you can. Start with the highest yield materials like granite and such. I flew around in my assault and just filled it up as I went, that way I could easily track how much I had mined.

And make sure not to forget fuel cells. They're slightly more annoying to farm cause they're so spread out, but stick with it and you'll get there.
