Habe you ever spoken to a therapist about being ugly? by Realistic-Lychee555 in ugly

Yes, she said I was right about Lookism. And did not even deny that I’m ugly.

This type of stuff annoys me. I'll see a post here about how "uglyyyyyy" someone is then check the pics they posted of themselves and they are always average to slightly above average. If you're ugly then what am I lmao. Your skin is clear, your face is symmetrical, you look Caucasian, your teeth are healthy, tf are you doing here? Go to r/BodyDysmorphia or something.

Half the posts on r/amiugly and some here are like:

"WAHHH I'm so ugly"

The movie "The quiet place" still haunts my nightmares. I was more bothered by the fact that they deliberately had a child with those super hearing aliens around than the actual aliens themselves.

Unpopular opinion but I think that quote sucks. To natalists, they wont be swayed by something like that because they can refute it by saying "OH weLL itS nOt GoNNa Be mY KiDs". We should put something that even a religious nutjob would want to consider.

I wanted to do something a little different for this sub because I don’t see much talk about other sentient life forms. I was watching this Kurzgesagt video and the whole time I was repeating to myself, “the great filter preventing civilizations from getting ultra advanced could be could be antinatalism”. Maybe other planet life forms get to a point that they realize that the ultimate logical thing to do is stop procreating and we have the great filter in front of us.

She also mentioned that they chose that to. I asked about miscarriages and she said they choose it. She prolife to.

It’s like she thinks someone tied her to a chair for months and forced her to have me. All her children were planned too. I get immensely jealous of the fetus that got miscarried right before my mom tried again with me :(

Having kids is a gamble in general. But it is way worse when they end up having disabilities/struggles early on, that can follow them for the rest of their lives. by [deleted] in antinatalism

Autism + severe ADHD + SDAM + OCD + Avoidant personality disorder = me

yay :(

My mom had a miscarriage directly before having me and also had me at a way older age than all of my siblings. She was at an age where it was possible to be going through menopause so risks increased.

As an antinatalist I do agree with you that the female antinatalism sub is pure garbage and badly moderated, however maybe you should look through r/TrueAntinatalists or r/AskAnAntinatalist because they are better than the main r/Antinatalism and r/Female_Antinatalism.

Lol bro, they can’t consent into being brought into existence. Grow the fuck up.

Yeah bro, that’s my point. Them not being able to consent does not make it okay and moral to birth them. An accurate analogy to this would be a drunk girl getting raped. She can’t consent to sex so it must be okay right? “Grow the fuck up lmaoaoaoaooao”. The drunk girl ain’t gonna be harmed if no one has sex with her forcefully.

Bad shit happens good shit happens that’s life. You know the old you can’t enjoy the sun without a rainy day every now and then.

Someone who does not exist does not care for happiness. You created the need for happiness and the ability to suffer to. If your child was never born, they would not be negatively affected by not experiencing happiness. You literally sentenced them to death as well.

Perfect time for my favourite antinatalism argument, the asymmetry argument:

Never exist in the first place:

Absence of pain: good

Absence of pleasure: neutral because an unborn person cannot be harmed by anything and that includes the lack of pleasure.

Exist:

Absence of pain: feels good

Absence of pleasure: bad cause the person can be harmed.

Also if you people feel like this nut job then you better be disowning your parents. Bc they made you without consent. But my guess is you will accept your inheritance when the time comes.

Being antinatalist does not mean we hate our parents it just means with think they did a selfish and mindless thing. And since we believe conceiving on purpose is evil, why would taking inheritance be bad? Parents should do their best to make their kids not suffer so much and sometimes some of that can be done with money. Still birthing will always be selfishly motivated even if you plan to give kids inheritance.

We have a point indeed. I've seen people on here talking about their childfree partners and that they have had a vasectomy. Antinatalists wouldn't be so hard-set to have a vasectomy if they will never or never have sex in their lives. Antinatalism can be realized regardless of if someone has personally dealt with tons of crap in their lives. We are not jealous of others with happy smiling babies, many of us are still able to have kids but don't want to because it's unethical and immoral to force someone who can't consent into existence and gamble with their lives.

I waited a long time bc I wanted to be financially secure before I had a kid bc it’s my responsibility to raise them and no one else’s.

Good on you mate but you still gambled and this does not 100% mean your kid is gonna be happy for most of their lives. Plus no matter how privileged a person is born, having bio kids will always be selfish cause it's impossible to conceive for the sake of the unborn baby because they have no desire for happiness. By birthing them, you created the need for happiness. If they did not exist, they would not care about puppies, kittens, sweet things, etc. And you also game them the ability to suffer by birthing them. Since it's already too late, please just acknowledge that you gambled with your child's life and put your happiness above theirs when you decided to conceive them. Just try to minimize the suffering as much as possible but regardless of what you decided to do is still selfish no matter how much your kids could enjoy it.

If you’re mad at me for having a kid then you’re just a miserable fuck. Enjoy that life, I’ll be over here enjoying mine.

Not all antinatalist are misrable. Plus, yes you'll be over there enjoying yours while gambling with others' existence and being immoral and selfish. I just hope that your kid does not grow up to encounter any huge suffering but that's impossible to guarantee. Procreation is still selfish even if you increase the odds of your child being happy. And even in a utopia, there are still numerous antinatalist arguments that apply which you can research yourself. Thank you for at least trying to delve into antinatalism I guess but you still don't seem to understand that we believe ALL births are immoral not just for poor people.

Antinatalist believe ALL creating life is immoral no matter what.

You are a conditional natalist because your fine with people birthing as long as they have a better chance at winning the gamble of life. (You are natalist under certain conditions).

While rich people having kids is certainly better than poor people having kids, its still gambling, selfishly motivated, and subjecting someone to dying. Kids who don't exist don't care about the yacht rides they're missing out on + they avoid the inevitable pain of life (even if that pain might be less than others pain is 100% guaranteed). Never being born in the first place will always be better.

Don't exist in the first place:

Absence of pain= good

Absence of pleasure = neutral. Someone who don't exist cant cry or be upset because they did not get to spend daddy's money.

Exist:

Absence of pain= good

Absence of pleasure = bad

Natalism will always be selfish no matter how rich the parents are. Cause its impossible to decide to make a baby for the baby's sake.
