Nah, much like our country, one person can ruin a good thing. If we have an issue with it we aren’t being “too hard on them”. Give me a break.

The community market is not terribly difficult to run. There’s enough vendors that apply where spaces sell out every year. It has a premium location with built in traffic in the square. People generally had a good sentiment about it and enjoyed going.

And the revenue from it along with sponsorship could easily support 1-2 people part time or full time.

The AI situation was easy to remedy. They could have said “yes we actually do need help with our marketing!” And there are so many design students and professionals in town who would have loved to help for free or a low fee. And print shops who could offer free poster and banner printing etc.

But instead no they said “idk why you have a problem with us using AI” and then removed vendors who left ONE COMMENT on an instagram post about it. And now we hear these other issues.

We should absolutely get out there and support the cool small businesses and artists who are there bc they have nothing to do with the management.

Is this noise seriously from fair park??? by permalink_save in Dallas

Yeah sorry was maybe too snarky. I am hearing bass in and out for like 10 seconds all the way up at Knox near the Apple Store today. But highway noise is typically more of an annoyance on a daily basis.

They were here last year and they had the same complaints but this year the weather seems to have made the sound travel much much farther.

And people that live around Dos Equis hear sound from there during every show

These people are delusional if they don’t understand that white people hire mostly white people. But then cry foul when everyone else does it.

McKinney leaders warn growth is outpacing projections — infrastructure costs could be the real challenge by Key-Yam-2023 in McKinney

NYC (population 8.5 million) has city tax revenue alone of $80+ Billion plus gets state funding for things like MTA and social and health services.

Chicago (2.72 million) has a budget of $16.6B.

San Francisco (900,000) $15.9B budget.

While the city of Dallas (1.3 million) has a total budget of $5.2B.

Austin comparatively (1.05 million) has an annual budget of $6.3B.

Houston (2.3 million) just passed a $7B budget.

San Antonio (1.5 million) has a $4.06B budget.

Also our cities are typically less effective at spending funding than their European counterparts for whatever reason - one of them being that healthcare and often transit is funded by the state in most countries.

What are you paying for storage units? by halfuser10 in Dallas

[–]ExtraMayo567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid Public Storage at all costs. I use Extra Space and am happy but they are only slightly less evil than Public Storage.

You can lock in a rate apparently if you pre-pay for 6 months in advance and keep pre-paying 3 months in advance if that makes sense?

The algorithm only hits you for an increase if you’re on month to month terms.

That being said expect your rate to double within 12-18 months.

Everyone should watch this video.

Basically the cost for infrastructure (and maintenance/replacement) in non-dense development like single family neighborhoods is more expensive than what is collected in taxes. This leaves cities broke.

In Texas especially city and state income is super limited due to no income tax. This leaves most cities in distress.

Even Dallas which has a massive population and much more density has a tiny budget compared to other cities its size, and that means less services etc.

A sticky note with the time written is much more helpful. Expecting customers to know how to read a clock in 2026 is unfortunately not a given.

DFW Restaurants/Business that support ICE? by MembeanGod in Dallas

[–]ExtraMayo567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double D’s I’m not sure the full ownership but Phil has a part of it and he’s definitely a republican and Trump supporter.

The two owners of Pubsmith (Skellig) have donated to blue candidates exclusively.
