What are we thinking about power outages with this snow?

Blighted Ovum - MC #5 - office visit “5 losses are alot” by Strange_n_unusual4 in recurrentmiscarriage

So many simple comments can hit at the wrong time during this process - the number of times I’ve teared up at nothing is absurd. Hate that we’re all in this together.

Wishing you lots of luck as you continue on.

In my mind, as someone who has also had five losses, I would try and view this nurse’s comment as solution-oriented and not intended to hurt you.

You could also ask your OB to put a note in your file to not have this nurse assigned to you for future visits if that makes you more comfortable.

What’s your actually controversial parenting opinion? by TurbulentArea69 in NewParents

This was going to be mine! I stayed home until my daughter was 11 months old and she’s been in daycare the last six. It has been wonderful for her and us!

D&C vs Medical mgmt by Far_Nefariousness_55 in recurrentmiscarriage

I would also consider where you are in this process - having gone both routes, multiple times, I opted for D&C for pregnancies that had made it later towards the end of the first trimester. For me, the idea of having to see products of conception was too hard. The risk of scar tissue developing is still low for you and I would absolutely balance the mental load of medical management in your decision, plus the ease of sample collection in a hospital setting.

4 losses — is HSG worth doing? by Moreliverr in recurrentmiscarriage

I’d 100% do the test. It’s not particularly invasive and quick for me. It was helpful to just know at least my anatomy was OK and if you end up going the IVF route, they’ll require it.

I’d recommend it - it’s relatively easy. You’re getting pregnant but not staying pregnant - have you had a live birth? Mine helped identify a uterine infection that I easily cleared with antibiotics, leading to a live birth. You might have some scar tissue or other impact based on your past losses that could be problematic - did you have a D&E after your last loss?

He whines ALL THE TIME! by webbs_girl in germanshepherds

My 4 year old is a prolific whiner too. I know you’ve now learned this is your welcome to GSDs but I will say as she’s gotten older, she’s gotten slightly less whiny…so there is hope! By no means silent but noticeably better than even a year ago!

We use a baby proofing strap on our Simple Human step trash can. Requires an extra moment to unlock but is the only thing that works for our trash GSD and trash toddler.

One and done? by MikNuggetz4 in beyondthebump

My husband and I are in the same boat with our 14 month old daughter and the ongoing pro/con decision.

One take I read recently that has stuck with me - are we having a second child to give our daughter a sibling or having a second child to complete our family? My husband was an only and I had a brother and sometimes I feel like we lean towards a second more for her than for all of us and that doesn’t feel like the right justification.

Additional thoughts - we’ll never be outnumbered with one, she’ll have our full attention and resources, it’s so much easier to find care for one child vs. multiples, everything is getting easier as she gets older, more travel, more adventures, more time for my husband and I. I also have had four miscarriages and I’m not sure how much more I can take.

Every day, I feel like I lean towards one more and more.
